People amass wealth for few reasons, sex, ego and power and those are intertwined. If wealth comes early in life, the spending will be enormous. If wealth comes post mid-life, it becomes far less relevant once basic needs are met.

As long as crypto assets are equated in value to government fiat, then it is dependent on the wallpaper. When the day comes where everything is priced in Crypto, THEN it becomes a currency. For now it it just a vehicle of speculation whereby you can gain or lose the fiat more quickly than the fiat itself. It's a catalyst.
