Isn't this the same guy whose sons were bombed riding in a car in Gaza? He said then, it did not matter and the fight will continue. You have to be stone called dead to not feel for the death of your own sons. Also, Hamas leaders will never change. Their ideology is the destruction of Israel as a nation. And they are willing to pay any price to get their wish.

Ariel Sharon then, had a policy of targeting the head of Hamas and top officials. Each time they attacked Israel, he made sure they all got targeted and eliminated, give the chance to do so. They always had to look behind their backs. Huge difference is it is not wholesale war like what they have now in Gaza. During his later years, Sharon became soft (maybe, because he was already ill) and abandoned Gaza. That was his legacy and a very bad decision it was. It emboldened Hamas they then, went on a killing spree. Killing Fatah members and supporters and imposing their rule in Gaza. Had Israel not abandoned the Gaza Strip, they would have been better off. They are able to keep a close eye on Hamas and its leaders including, the tunnels being built.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the Pentagon's war-room right now. This could escalate very fast. It's not like they hit a target in Lebanon. They hit Tehran. That's big.

LMT at an all-time high pre-market. Light volume.

I wonder who gave Israel overfly airspace. Had to be Saudi.

I hope the Iron-Dome has lots of reserve ammo, because the last time Israel hit Iran (April), they launched 300 pos cruise missiles, and that was just in retaliation for a surgical strike on a munitions outpost. I mean I'm speculating, but this was some kind of ceremony. I'd imagine it was at some prestigious palace or something in Tehran proper.

Yeah. Blinken didn't get much sleep last night. Nor did the Joint Chiefs.

Israel has stated they will eliminate Hamas leaders and militants across the globe. There is no safe haven.

Similar to hunting down the terrorists who killed the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munch Olympics via the "Wrath of God" operation -- the response by Israel to eliminate Hamas will be relentless.

There still is an open question if this was an air strike or a local bombing performed by people on the ground. It would be less embarrassing to the Iranian government if this was not performed by agents on the ground -- but even an airstrike is embarrassing. Iran can't even defend it's own terrorist proxies on its own territory -- which is part of the lesson that Israel wanted to apply here -- there is no safe haven for Hamas anywhere on the face of the earth.

Wires are calling it an airstrike. Need more information, but the fact that Israel got thru their ews is a big deal.
