I disagree. These banks under attack are not part of any lobby group in any form of control. This is a Fed/big govt take over. Which of course includes a few banks. But only few. This structure may fool some. The two are separate. These banks are being forced to blow themselves up.

To turn around and blame all of these banks is slight of hand, that only works on the ignorant. With the ultimate goal of blaming freedom and free markets in the end. For the continued consolidation of power.

It wasnt 100% to blame, but it sure didnt help, and it played a large role in the crash.

  3. There's no way to do that. But no doubt part of their campaign is to counteract the nonsensical populist mantra that the "banksters" are the only ones responsible. Which has made squatters who used their houses as ATMs and haven't made a mortgage payment in years "victim-heroes" instead of the deadbeat scum they really are, and has made pandering socialist politicians saviors instead of the un-American scum they are. And what really concerns me is the point Illum is making about the breakdown of society which this has certainly contributed to, and in spades.

  4. The poor ain't what they used to be. Today's self-entitled parasite class deserves far more derision and far less in handouts.

  6. Listen, did you actually read what I said? Did I say that I am blaming the banks in the original article for anything? Moreover, I am not going to argue with you about whether this is some monstrous government conspiracy, as it's a waste of time.

  7. I'll bet you when Obama's time is up either the next election or in 6 years he will wish the incoming president good will and go on his way exactly like every other president before him, except the ones who died of course. I don't have the kind of money you do ( pilot money ) to bet with but I can come up with a little to wager. I offered this same wager to some friends who said the same thing about Bush, they didn't take my offer either.

I agree its a waste of time, mine. The article states. Banks need to lend MORE to deadbeats. The justice department is on your ass if you don't. Not only that. FOODSTAMPS is the COLLATERAL.

    And you said this.

    Quote from Artful D0dger:
Yep. This policy of giving nonwhites lower standards, and government/ACORN pressure on banks to give money to nonwhites without question is a large part of what caused the first crisis.

    Your Quote

This is incorrect... The mtge industry, including the banks, would love the public to believe this, but there's all sorts of evidence to the contrary. The banks and their lobbyists have pulled out all the stops to shift the blame for the crisis onto anyone but the banking industry.
    -----------------------------------------

You are blaming the banks as they are being told to accept food stamps/ welfare, and make more loans to these losers. By all means respond no more. No need for it.

  9. Well, that's precisely what the banking industry wants you to believe. It wasn't their fault and it was "largely" the other bad things that bad people made them do.
What populist mantra? We have not held a single banking executive responsible for anything... No serious aspect of the industry has changed. Glass-Steagall hasn't been reintroduced. TBTF is an even bigger issue now than before. This what you call us holding the "banksters" as the only ones responsible? Let me suggest to you again to go read the story of Peter Wallison and the FCIC. Try to ignore the politics of the issue and maybe you'll see what I mean.

  10. Gee, thanks, but I think I will respond one last time... You're not following some very basic logic. If you stop being political and blinkered about it and attempt to think about things without bias, you'll see what I mean. If not, so be it.
