Ge+22.94 Intc+72.46 Unrealized loss now at -342 had a chance to cover it all, couldnt get in fast enough. Trying to keep my total trades for the day to about 3-5. While keeping my eye on failed retracements.
That's a lot of unrealized loss for a "dollar-trader". That's 342 tics. With just one contract in a standardly-sized instrument, it's -$3,420. I myself have been there in live, just not to that degree. But ken, I must ask...Can you please show at least one chart showing an entry or trade-decision point? Technical analysis people tend to be chart readers. We ask that you show a chart with bits for us to follow.
I will not show the chart until the position is closed out all the way . Plus im trying to figure out capture. What the position represents is a quick pull back that i caught with my eye got in pulled up failed to get out close open runaway, and adding to the position midday still running away hedging at the end , boom covered some of it .. not all of it . Its a failed trade yet to fully executed I may show some charts when I get screen capture software , right now that postion has expanded and represents 24k dollars of equity And since I cant make heads or tails of tda account position stuff. It should have closed today but I messed up and failed to pull out . Instead playing peek a boo with the order flow as it went down. What I missed today was intc failed retracement of its early high, an easy 20 ticks. I will attempt to close all my positions by the end of the week . I will include charts in the future. regards
You can just use the print-screen key. That "copies" it to your "virtual clipboard". Then open up MS Paint, and paste the picture into that, and then save it as a .jpg. It's all free stuff built-into Windows, since version 3.0
Finally out of AMD and account is once again positive +323 from a drawdown of almost 8-900 Thx for the ride AMD Covered.
So this Horrid trade began late thursday . as it suddenly dropped to around 6.84 grabbed about 7 ran away didnt get out , next morning it jumped about about a quarter on the open . Hit some resistance around 7.34 added another 3 . Then it ran up very quickly to almost 8 it couldnt hold,,, shorted about a 5 lot and covered at about 7.60. Yesterday it hit a wall. tried to grab all my 3700 shares 7.62- 7.68 didnt hit it just right my big 2k lot hit @ 7-62 so i just grabbed more as it continued to hit the level it couldnt retrace. It couldnt hold its close, covered all 3700 plus the 1000 from last week at 7.53 Good bye AMD
Finally done for the day Now +86 from Intc in addition to the +658 form Amd . iN 1000 @7.25 another 3 .28/27 It attempted to CLIMB TO 7.30 failed to do so for a while, Set my cover around the next support level 7.19. Intially watched Intc at 7.16 wanted to go long as it held, could have grabbed both sides. Regards
So I'm sitting here thinking of when my free trades will run out with tda hopefully never LOL. im getting pretty quick fills. even as the order flow reaches down. Im pretty sure now i got my strategy locked in . Id be lucky to pass the 200-250k shares a month with my account size. Iv seen some good rates that still make trading viable from a few brokers. either way free trades at tda give me a cushion to practice. So ill keep doing that .
Based on your trading frequency TD should give a discounted commission once your free trades are gone, and it should be a large discount. You'll have to ask for it, so go ahead and make the call. I think the focus will be the number of trades you make and not share volume. Just FYI.
