  1. Record 46 Million Americans on Food Stamps
    By Jeff Cox | CNBC

A record 46.7 million Americans are on food stamps, a shocking 15 per cent of the U.S. population, according to new data released on Wednesday.

The June numbers, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, were a slight increase from May enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP, when 46.5 million were signed up.

When U.S. President Barack Obama took office in January 2009, an average of 32 million Americans were signed up to receive the food supplement.

I await the sermon from our Lord and Savior on how to solve this crisis.

    Not only that:

Food-stamp spending, which more than doubled in four years to a record $75.7 billion in the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2011, is the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s biggest annual expense.

  3. Just what Odumbo wants... the more people receiving food stamps (or money from any other government program) the better... the more who will vote the Dem ticket, regardless...... as they wouldn't want to jeopardize their stream of government support checks.

  4. 46 million Americans. That's the size of Spain. Imagine every single Spaniard you see in Spain hungry and on food stamps. Horrible.

This is Bush's fault, you know.

Why more food stamps, of course.

  7. And on Bush's days, remember him? Perhaps not since the GOP hs tried to erase everyone's memory of him. But, he had thousands killed in Iraq, ran a budget surplus into an unending deficit.

At least food stamps go to Americans, not wasted on tribal and civil wars.

Ah, so we're out of Afghanistan, then? Whew! Thank God that's over...

I'm glad you find it such a plus that Americans are getting food stamps - not sure if you realize that the average benefit being paid is dropping so people are getting less. It's not like the $$ are increasing. It's just that more people cannot get by without them.

Think of that when you cheer this stat.

I noticed you've been embarrassingly unsuccessful in your bid to get your leftist buddies to stop using ignore.

That would officially make you equally irrelevant here with both the left and the right. Is that what you meant when you, falsely, claimed to be a centrist?

  10. AK put Tigger on ignore because he is a flaming racist. What other Progressive or Liberal uses ignore on a permanent basis?
