Just a general, somewhat off-topic comment regarding ET-think and volume... Other threads about volume are quite amazing (and quite amusing), as nearly "everyone" has staunch points of view regarding the "value" of using volume for trading et al, and many of those that do see value in using volume view high volume as some sort of "signal". If they only knew how much the troughs matter!! Trade On! PS... 3 hours into trading, Daily QQQ current PRV is approximately 5% (not a typo) of yesterday. Too muted to make a PRV judgement imo. Using TV volume.
Thanks stepan7. IMO, with the addition of today's anemic, barely visually perceptible, dry up volume, we are at a similar scenario as a few days ago. For the moment, IMO the red container remains true, and is fully supported by volume. I am 99.975% certain tomorrow will be IV, given the dry up today. If that IV breaks up, through the red RTL, the green container becomes true. If the IV is a break down, it's new pt3 again, and the red container lives for another day. Note too, the last 5 or 7 days PV... IP-DV. Jack and Spyder often referenced "second chances". Change or continue? IMO, the blue container is not supported by volume in any way that I am familiar with annotating. If someone can show me how the blue container is supported by volume please do.
Though I don't believe in it, there is possibility that RTL from July 2016 hold. And we should revise our TL's
Agreed. Based on "taping" annotation where 1,2,3 is by default, not strictly defined through visible volume. Attached is the pdf I have for bar-to-bar annotation. In my experience, this type of annotation appears specifically when 1) in the overlap zone, and 2) sub-fractals. To be sure, it is something that assists me in fractal jumping!!! haha. The pdf is not new... just repost, rehash.
A few versions ago of my P/V Tools, I tried to implement similar P/V cases as from your pdf. Unfortunately, no use. The problem is - I can't come up with algorithm for Gaussians. This why I asked for help with JHM 2.0 in my journal hoping for something, derail stoped that, and I give up with automation Gaussians.
@tiddlywinks I agree and wanted to highlight the importance of the troughs. For example, frequently, at Sym’s, the pattern completes with the prior bar and the binary vector is showing IV up on deck after the Sym but direction has still not committed to IP or DP. This is the moment where additional legs of 2b’s and 2r’s extend the current trend or there is a change in Dominance. In RDBMS this moment occurs at the assigned P1’s of volume (M3->M1 of price). The direction isn’t trending until that new pt3 presents by virtue of the additional bar which (in this context) is on a volume trough. Attentiveness to that developing price bar’s first leg and XO (or not) of it’s doji into it’s second leg and how that second leg is developing makes all the difference in nailing the turn for me. In general, troughs are best for entries. Obvious to folks whom monitor volume, it must go through a trough on it's way to becoming a peak. Monitoring the YM leading the ES has added a degree of freedom for me in that regard. I haven't come across anything similar that would give folks that additional degree of freedom in trading the NQ in Jack's work. It seems like your approach of monitoring and trading the sub 5min provides a similar utility.
My RT 2min NQ trading chart... at ftt. All supported in volume. The yellow dot was the end of sequence, after which, the money making goodies happen!! Will answer questions, if any, later. Trade On!
