I think we actually agree more than disagree. I just think that a lot of the articles that are written about Covid by so-called journalists are very misleading because the journalist themselves use many terms out of context and oversimplify the hell out of everything.
Agree. Omicron has now taught the world that's it is now time to learn to live with Covid and time to put equal or more emphasis on improving our antiviral drug treatments and increasing the supply of such to prevent severe Covid illnesses that could result in Hospitalization or Death. The above is something we should have done in 2020. Then again, maybe it was considering we did discover several antiviral medical treatments prior to the discovery of vaccines. Seriously, I look forward to the day when we can go to our local pharmacy or grocery store to get a bottle of Covid syrup to treat Covid when we first test positive just as we're able to do when we go buy FLU medicine at the pharmacy/grocery store... This is the direction we should now be focusing on instead of on vaccines unless people want to take yearly Covid vaccines like the yearly FLU vaccine...twice a year in countries having an epidemic once the WHO declare an end to the Covid Pandemic. Unfortunately, it took us about +40 years to live with (get familiar with it) the FLU after the 1918 - 1920 Influenza Pandemic that killed off about 50 million of the global population. FLU is now seasonal and almost a yearly passage of right in which many athletes still play when they're diagnosed with the FLU and many people go to work when they suspect they're coming down with the FLU because FLU medication is cheap and easily available at any pharmacy or store along with the knowledge that we'll most likely recover from it on our own without too much intervention when sick. This is when we can then strive for Natural Immunity to prevent another Covid Pandemic in the future when a Covid infection is viewed as a passage of right especially when Covid no longer has the ability to impact our economy. wrbtrader
wrb said-- Talk to ET owner Baron, he's had Covid 3x (Original, Delta and recently stated he recovered from Omicron infection) and he's not vaccinated. That's three different variants in which two of them share the same key mutated viral protein that such an infection would not have occurred had there been Natural Immunity.---- Buy1Sell2 replies---- And he is now immune in my view to Alpha, Delta and Omicron. He will not be immune to other strains but will have a better response to any new strain---

wrb said--- Further, some academia view "reinfections"---- Buy1Sell2 replies---- There is no such thing as a re-infection. There are however infections from new strains/variants.
Are you a complete idiot? Jan 8, 2021 there was almost no one vaccinated, now there is approximately 63% of the population vaccinated. Yet these are the numbers. COVID CASES USA 446,240 JAN 8 2022 300,777 JAN 8 2021 You don't believe in natural imunity, you dont believe in Covid treatment. Yet you praise this vaccine, which clearly is not working. You Biden supporters are really something.
Vaccines are working the way they were designed to work...to minimize the risk of severe Covid illness that results in increase Hospitalization, ICU admission, and Death. Vaccines do not have 100% efficacy and do not have 100% effectiveness...they were never advertised as such and there has never been a vaccine in the history of vaccination with 100% efficacy/effectiveness. Just the same, those not vaccinated and getting reinfected again...their bodies are doing what it is supposed to do by allowing their immune system to fight Covid properly...to minimize the risk of severe Covid illness that results in increase Hospitalization, ICU admission, and Death. The problem is the small percentage of severe Covid illness that not only impacts greatly our healthcare system... it's detrimental to families, businesses, and the economy. Too much craziness about "mild symptoms/mild infection" by media and too many idiots out there that do not understand that it only takes a very small percentage of our society to put our Healthcare system at the capacity level...resulting in a reduction in the proper care of those admitted for severe Covid care or a reduction in proper care for other illnesses / injuries. If someone is looking for a "guarantee" in the middle of a Pandemic while Variants of Concern are begin birth in unhealthy populations...its not going to happen. wrbtrader

They were purported to be stop the chance of infection and were indeed advertised as such. Instead, they are what we always believed they would be----"therapeutic immune system helpers"
Bullshit, The first Covid vaccines advertised in their result in "trials" to have at best was 91.3% efficacy against infection and 100% effectiveness against severe Covid illness. By the time they hit the market (consumers) in the real-world (on day 1 of distribution)...efficacy and effectiveness as expected immediately dropped down into the upper 80% category although there were some vaccines touted out of Russia and China as having +90% without any wane. In real-world...they were released with 84% efficacy and 97% effectiveness against severe Covid illness. They've been waning since the first month as the vaccine makers / NIH / CDC / WHO stated such would occur as such had occurred with all vaccines in history. There was never any 100% advertisement for efficacy / effectiveness against mild illness nor were there any advertisements that the high efficacy / effectiveness would be maintained from month to month nor maintained against future Variants. Thus, vaccines were designed to minimize the risk of severe Covid illness for most of the population...exceptions are those like immune-compromised patients...the latter is very problematic as it has been in the history of vaccinations. Today, about a year after the introduction of vaccines...if you've been vaccinated and exposed to someone with Covid... You then get no infection or a mild illness from a breakthrough infection...your vaccination did its job in preventing severe Covid illness that results in Hospitalization, ICU admission or Death. Yet, there's no guarantee with a new Variant of Concern...similar for those that recover from a prior Covid infection. wrbtrader
