And speaking of chicken, I normally like Whole Foods, but after hearing how good the meats are at Winn Dixie (store in FL), was buying some NY strips (I know, too much fat, sorry), guy in the meat area knows I buy the steak by large amounts, and pointed out a sale on boneless, skinless, fresh chicken breasts. Couldn't turn down a deal like this: [IMG]
Two packages are in the fridge, and 12 more are in the freezer. Wow! And I didn't clean them out so others could get it. There was more. He said come back Tuesday, as they're turning sirloins loose cheap, so until Convexx tells me to stop this re my fatty liver disease...:D Am actually only consuming two servings red meat/day (I know, "only.."), and am going down to one. Very soon, am gonna be down to once a week. I'd like to hear Convexx opinion on the red meat. I already avoid high fructose corn syrups, hell I avoid all sugars, minus what comes in 1-2tsp raw, local honey. Occasionally a few ginger ales on a weekend when doing my designated driver gig, which is amazing, lol, but unsweet tea most of time. Besides the meats, I'm eating super clean as above. Just thinking I need to get rid of the red meats for now. I may be doing two protein shakes a day:( for a while to at least try to keep some mass while taking a liver regimen.

As for the grilled chicken breasts, these will cost me around .50 cents per 8oz serving. I like that well! Of course, Whole Foods fresh chicken breasts rock the house, but are $$$.

Convexx, for the next 10 weeks (as in a study where FLD greatly improved, and often reversed was 10 weeks.) I'm actually thinking that duration is low, as the subjects had NAFLD, and that's much different, being that I used a drug-alcohol, and that makes me hepatoxic. Correct?

Anyhow, the regimen, and thanks for most of this!

    CoQ10 (1200mg)
    Idebenone (300mg)
    Acetyl L Carnitine (1000mg)
    ALA (600mg)
    EPA (3000mg)
    Resveratrol (1000mg)
    Pterostilbene (100mg)
    MK-7 (180mcg)
    Aspirin 1/2 325 mg tab
    Astragalus (TA-50) (varies)
    Keto-DHEA (200mg)
    DHEA (100mg)
    SAM-e (400mcg)
    multivitamin
    D3
    NAC 1,000mg potid
    Actigall (UDCA) 300mg potid
Liv-52 double strength potid (http://www.amazon.com/Himalaya-Liv-...ie=UTF8&qid=1412653348&sr=8-2&keywords=liv+52) Actually does help with ALT, which is rare for most natty liv stuff.

What do you think? Adjustments you recommend, and things you'd add that aren't here? Also, name off a quality multivitamin, and dose. I don't always go with the labels with a multi. And d3 dose?
Also, I don't believe 3g/day NAC is gonna cause any issues, besides maybe loose stool. But let me know what you think of the above in entirety. And thanks!

Oh yeah, I have chef's scissors, and trim ALL fat off the chicken breast, even though it's 98% lean. I recommend that to others if they aren't lazy. And prep? Easy. Bake on a sheet covered with aluminum foil in oven. Never grill these, as they'll dry out too fast. And AFTER taking these out of the oven, then season. I use Weber grills "chicken seasoning," as it's not overly salt-heavy, but tastes good.

Gut health -- maintaining optimal intestinal-flora

This is too big of a topic to fit into "essential supplements" but it's as important as any and deserving of it's own thread. Pre/probiotic "diets" are critical for those with poor diets; those with compromised immune systems; those who ingest large amounts of artificial sweeteners.

Probiotics: Best to start with a refrigerated 100-400B CFU powder for the first week. Then maintenance with a 100B capsule daily. I Like the Garden Of Life Raw Probiotics brand. Renew is fine as well. Vitamin Shoppe has a fridge-case full of them. iherb.com ships with a cold-pack, but VS is usually competitively-priced and local. Be sure to go straight home and refrigerate. Order from iherb.com if you don't have a VS nearby.

Probiotic: First week: Daily powdered probiotic as directed on label (loading dose)
    Maintenance: 100B capsule daily

Prebiotic fiber: Inulin/FOS source. Any will do. Beans, legumes; quinoa and brown rice mix is one of my favorites. I am not concerned with the saponins. Add some grass-fed (KerryGold) unsalted butter and salt to taste. Costco has a bag of red quinoa and rice mix that microwaves. Awesome stuff. Supplement with an FOS source.

Avoid all artificial sweeteners. Look for products using sugar alcohols; erythritol is excellent. No impact to + gut bacteria. Sobe uses it. I was drinking 3-4 Coke Zero a day and it was deleterious. Fast food is really not the culprit. You can maintain a very lean physique even with the occasional FF, provided that you ingest adequate nutrition, prebiotic fiber and avoid artificial sweeteners.

Macros are digested and result in various fibers, aminos and fatty acids. The quality of those redox/byproducts cannot be differentiated, regardless of source. Isoleucine from a vegetarian source is indistinguishable from the isoleucine in a Big Mac. Nutrition is about caloric-efficiency. Receiving the proper ratios in the least kcals. Yes, you can eat two Big Macs and receive adequate nutrition elsewhere. It's simple inefficient. It doesn't mean that you're unhealthy if you to like frequent fast food chains.

A good analogy from horticulture when discussing gut-bacteria. Annuals and perennials. Some bacteria will subsist and grow colonies provided adequate substrate (prebiotic fiber); some need to be replenished (probiotic supps; lacto for example). The "1W powder" load is analogous to a fasting cleanse, but much easier to implement.

Atherosclerosis is *largely* a function of simple sugar intake and hepatic VLDL metabolism. It's the structure of the fat that lends itself to adherence. Eat the sirloin. I buy USDA Prime rib eye from Costco when they have it. I freeze what I don't use. I take it to medium on the grill and then cut it into strips and fry it on the stove in KerryGold (for the kids). They love it over white Jasmine rice (ugh) or the quinoa mix.

Scored some of that myself at that price...should point out that you need the WD card for the lower price. Often been getting London Broil, which is about the most dense, low fat beef protein you can get for as low as 3.99 a pound in recent months, also at WD, also with a WD card. You can also score gas points on purchases at WD, and for amount of purchase at Publix. I scored a 10 dollar off gas card at Publix today with a 50 dollar purchase, (booze not counted toward card at Publix).

Well, now that the edge on the whipsaw's dull after getting done with me, am sure we've gone over this before right here, but just received a shipment of powders, and am ready to mix the Coq10 with the Jarrow coconut oil. It's been in fridge all night though.

    Any best practice ideas here?

And damn, I ordered this yesterday, and it was here in FL today from KY! I often wonder how this is done! Ordered a new drill Sunday, and it showed up on Columbus day. Again, how does this happen with Amazon? Of course, I ordered a TON of Liv-52, and Mentat (good stuff- in high doses!), and apparently it's being drop shipped from India. Expected delivery is around Thanksgiving, and am not kidding, lol! Of course, will show earlier than that, but that's international for ya. As for stuff Amazon has in warehouses all over, and ready to be routed closest to you, it's pretty impressive what they can get here in no time. Can see the drone thing won't be far out, as if I'm happy with the shipping now, can imagine, what it would be like to have a drone drop something two hrs after I hit the send button. Wow!
Anyhow, I take it I need to let the coconut oil come to room temp for mixing? And was it 25g, or 50g per 16oz jar? Am going to re-read the thread this evening, as once past my nonsense, should be able to finish it in a few minutes, lol!

And damn, do I love the smell of the Jarrow's coconut oil!
