Perhaps she didnt. Im no expert on that science and took what I read at face value. Born as a woman would actually make a big difference in my mind. Her condition could perhaps be compared to superior genetics, which obviously occurs in either gender? I shouldnt have chimed in on this and I apologise if I have encouraged misinformation on this topic.
You are fine, understandable reaction when misinformed. I also first read we had a man boxing women and thought wtf! There were lots of insults on social media.
Well, you can't even say born female anymore. The "correct" terminology is "assigned" female at birth (assuming she ever gets born (excuse me, assigned), which itself is problematic these days).

Sort of hard to explain the XY chromosomes that show up in the testing then... Khelif, as well as Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan, were permitted to take part in the Olympics after being disqualified from the International Boxing Association [IBA]'s world championships in 2023 for failing gender eligibility tests. The IBA released a statement last week saying that the two boxers "did not undergo a testosterone examination" but were subject to "separate and recognized" tests that will remain confidential. IBA president Umar Kremlev told the Russian news agency Tass last year that Khelif and Lin were disqualified from the world championships because "it was proven they have XY chromosomes." ......... The IOC, which is overseeing the boxing competition in Paris and cut ties with the IBA last June, does not conduct tests for XY chromosomes or elevated levels of testosterone, and said the "gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport." https://www.newsweek.com/maga-olympics-boxer-algerian-imane-khelif-gender-man-1933642
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_gonadal_dysgenesis Maga's claim a person born with a vagina is a man, because of a genetic disorder. I guess MAGA's support transgenders then
Personally, I think the correct thing to do is to give the XX females the benefit of the doubt concerning this. If a person is a one in a million XY "female" then I think by my logic they should be disqualified from competing in XX female's sports (simply because it's not clear what gender they are, at least to me ... that is if there is such a thing as gender anymore).
