  1. But in the general populace peil is just an average dude. It's incredible that 40 - 50 % of adults in the US are young-earthers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!!

If that's not proof of how ignorant most US citizens are I don't know what is. This also helps explain how 40% can still think global warming is hoax and 30% can think Obama's a Muslim and Sadam Hussein caused 9/11 or the government did it.

The shocking lack of knowledge/education and ideologically produced irrational delusions is one big reason America is in decline. The US does not deserve any high status in the world as long as this true. The US is still young.....and stupid.

    1) If you visit Ta Prohm and look at the bas relief in question, just above it you'll see another animal that also has what appears to be plates on it's back too. Neither are actually consistent with known Stegasaurus remains - most notably the size and proportions of the head. More telling though is that the plates on this so called Stegasaurus are not connected to the body. Again, comparing with the bas relief immediately above the one in question, it becomes clear that the plates are perhaps more likely background or other detail rather than part of the animal depicted.

    2) The Ica stones? I didn't realize people still believed that one.

    3) The Coelacanth issue has been discussed here before - different family to those in the fossil record.

    Agreed.

Dug up this old poll by peilthetraveler here on ET:

    http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70298&highlight=creationism

    Code:
God created the universe(earth) about 6000 years ago like the bible says 5	20.83%
The universe was created with the big bang like the scientists say 10	41.67%
The universe has always existed and there was no beginning 6	25.00%
The universe doesnt exist, we are all figments of our own imaginations 3	12.50%
    Total:	24 votes	100%

Would be interesting to see the results of this poll with a much larger sample size.

  5. Interesting that 12% think we are figments of our imagination. That's about the same percentage that say they make money daytrading. :)
