C'mon, Jack! I see you're bragging about 100K share trades again. Just show me ONE execution report! Here's a Jack-like trade I just made using NO Jack principles. Made half the daily range so far. Not impressed? Me neither!
How ever would we be able to trade without Greenspan? Or the oil speculators? Bless 'em! A premature exit? I don't think so. Even Mama Market gets tired of a good thing and wants to roll over.
I keep seeing your 1 lots. If you'd go to 2 lots you could move up from the White Star to a decent champagne and really tear into those black boxes.
Whimsy. I thank you kindly for your advice. But I don't want to ruin my amateur status. I only trade for the sheer visceral pleasure of it, and monetizing the sport surely would ruin the fun for me. As to black boxes, my "system" is utterly untestable. Partly because it has so many rules, and partly because I don't even know what some of those rules are. Therefore it cannot possibly work, and it would be a waste of time to code it up. Besides, even after many years of trading, I still don't know what I am doing. It is a work in progress, which, I fear, I will not live to complete, as I am a dying man. And I wouldn't appreciate a better champagne anyway. I just start with a good one so I can finish with cheap ones. Thanks for responding. ET has become so serious that it no longer suffers fools, especially old ones. Mike.
Oh, my! The desperation of ET for enlightenment is truly prodigious! I just now looked back at the first post in this thread, and the chart in it has been downloaded 1025 times! One begins to understand where Barnum and Mencken got their dyspeptic attitudes.
A simple little bread and butter trade to whet your appetities until Jack gives us the main course. Something he doesn't tell you is that the market invariably conspires to make 100 car ES market orders wrong. So I am waiting anxiously to see one.
Another efficient little non-Jack trade. Captured 4 ticks of an 8 tick move. I know Jack would have done better. Trivial? Pathetic? Gutless? Wimpy? Oh, yes. But it WAS a winner. In a slooooooow morning. And I just love sitting in a position I KNOW is a winner while watching other traders getting shaken out. The NQ MMs are such experts!
Thank you for your kind response. I think. But what consistency did you have in mind? Of congealed oatmeal? Of slush on the street? All my trades are stuck in one place: cowardice. Only certitude of entry can overcome my paralyzing fear. Only the grateful release of exit can assuage the agonizing anxiety of holding. Ah, the sweet relief! Picture the Ingres painting "The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian".
