taking a shot on Jan lumber today...have some orders working, will see if they get filled. Otherwise not much doing...everything gapped too hard for me to chase...
Today - im short only Lean Hogs - because its unlikely to be affected by the craziness of tomorrow. December 09 - Eurodollars look interesting on the long side bt im gonna stay pat till announcement tomorrow
TraderTX If lumber works out, let us know. I used to trade lumber and too many times got stuck with limits against me. I could hold my trade long enough (couple of weeks) and break even, but I will never forget those long days. Since then, I moved away from contracts with thinner volume. The softs seem so erratic, I just canât seem to make a good plan trading them, but I am always fascinated by them and want to jump back in.
Agreed, although I haven't ever noticed getting "stuck" in lumber, just never being able to get a fill on an entry order, whether the order be small or large. The softs are erratic...I don't like trading them as much now that they have gone electronic. As hard to believe as it is, I found it was EASIER to get filled in the pits. Cocoa is especially hard to trade...large b/a spread, you just kinda have to stick an order out there and hope for the best.
Head and shoulders on the daily for the Dec/july corn spread. I sold a few. Bullish crop report and the all the carries widen? This market has no legs guys. I change my opinion about the long options packages.
i hear ya swing im sitting long lumber from 202. I think it's a value buy but knowing lumber it'll sit here for weeks and then shoot up 20 bux
I agree with you Rtrader...I'm still sitting and waiting for my buy points in the grains...did sell half my meal position today at 287.5..looks like I should have sold all of it.
ok...got filled on the Jan lumber @ 194, after which it immediately sold off....ha ha...oh well..guess I'll baby it till I'm sick of it.
downward sloping Head and Shoulders on the long bond daily fellas, i dont know if you put any creedence into these.
