oil stonks...

  1. Even if dip-shit Biden tried to fix his fiasco with Keystone, isn't that a bit too late now? By the time that is in service, the war may be long over in Europe, and everything else will have changed once again.

Looks like Buffet's stake in OXY just got a lot bigger so looks like happy days again for today. Its up 50% in 7 trading days.

  3. More oil shooting up like a rock today, I just now bought back my naked calls. Oh well, can't win them all.

If world-war III comes to an end this week, you can thank me for everything.

Just when I thought it was time to sell $CVX off of a parabolic rise, it goes up another $8

These stocks have gone completely parabolic. CVX had 2 downgrades in the last 2 days and its still up like 5-6%. Its starting to look like the 12/2010 to 4/2011 period where CVX went from $80-$110.

CVX is crazy. I bought the 170 March calls this morning and they already doubled. So I then bought the 175 calls and they are already up 30%.

I wouldn't call that a parabolic move. In fact, I've avoided most large cap Oil stocks because they underperform in this environment compared to mid caps and juniors. Here are some one year returns ( including a bit of a pullback for a few days ) :

    Large Cap : Chevron 55%, Suncor 40%, Cenovus 94%
Mid Cap : MEG Energy 154%, Enerplus 143%, Baytex 327%
    Speculative : Athabaska 280%, Gear Energy 224% .

may not be as much of a move as small cap oils, but I’d call a two week 30% move (approx, I did the math in my head) parabolic enough to consider lightening up. Especially in a mega cap.
