Oil: I call short term bottom right here

Discussion in 'Commodity Futures' started by Rearden Metal, Sep 12, 2006.

  1. Man you posters need to get a life. Here you are worshipping some internet clown named rm. Get a life and learn to trade yourself. As far as i'm concerned anyone like rm who feels a need to brag on the net is a nobody.I've seen this clown post a note telling people not to email him because he's not spilling any beans yet he teases people with his fake blotters and damm well knows people will email him for his"edge". The only edge he has is he owns a souped up 1998 pentium 2 with a monochrome monitor that allows him to surf

  3. I'd like to see you call a 20 pt drop in BIDU, a 10 pt drop in a sports display screen company, a 2 pt up move in the VIX all in perfect time. Send me your picks -- I'll be glad to give him some credit, because he has some skills.

Of course, any trader should be able to analyze and make his own trades, but it doesn't hurt to have an open mind. After all, those who know how to follow the herd must be open enough to see the herd moving.

  4. back to oil -- how about long overnight? It seems that 50 cent move down past support didn't end on weakness. Perhaps RM is right and we are at a short term bottom.

Hell, NG at 4.82 at one point today didn't even give oil any momentum. 10% down on NG, while a same move in oil would be $6.30 down!!

maybe our new levels: support is 63.00 and resistance is 64.50.

    thoughts?

  5. nymex pit bastids say there could be a final shakout that send the contract down below 60. they've been wrong before tho [and me as well], thinkin' it would not go and stay below 70 for long.

Uh, silver just broke down to continue its free fall, and you're calling a bottom. Unlike with the oil call, I can't see any reason for a bounce here. Looks like SLV could easily fall another 10 points. Do you see anything more sustainable than an overnight bounce?

Anyway, your calls have been amazing. Thank you very much for them. Hope you don't care about the few envious little people who complain about everything. Never can satisfy everyone, can you?

Would be also interesting to know what are good investments for the long term, other than gold.

  7. brandons last post speaks for itself...I think its goes without saying that he is not interested in anything constructive, and has proven nothing..unlike RM.

BCE is entiltled to his opinion and he is a great contributor to ET as far as I can see. At least he offered some constructive criticism.

As for RM, why not show him some respect??....he probably is one of the best traders on ET and does offer proof, even though he doesnt have to prove sh*t.

I think we all can guess who is a good trader and who isnt...RM is the real deal.

So if you have nothing positive to say or any constructive criticism please refrain...because I like reading RM posts.

As for Silver, I loaded up on SLW today...a pure play on Silver..one of the few if not the only pure play. For me this is not a ST play...but a trade into the end of the year for a seasonaly strong time for PM's.

Rearden, on a side note...I bought SLW today before I saw your call...did the same on VIX and Oil..now Silver.

Dont take this as a contrary indicator though...I am new to ET but I have been around...just getting back into trading though.

    Thanks for everyones contribution.

    Good Luck

  8. Yup, I knew it before I even saw your confirmation.
Thanx to those who backed me up.

    Now to deal with brandon12=bighitler=hedgeking<b>=joeyata1</b>:

Let me explain this in terms you can understand:
(Those unfamiliar with Middle Eastern culture will think this all a bit strange- but 'brandon' will understand it perfectly.)

You get one more shot at me- just <b>one</b> post, where you're free to spout whatever feces-in-text-form you can think of.
BUT- make a <b>second</b> post attacking me and I will then post your PM's to me, right here in public. To refresh your memory, in those PM's you tried impressing me with fictitious tales of your great 'success' in trading. You kept very poor track of your lies, with one PM telling me the <b>exact opposite</b> of the other one. I will also publicly post my insulting reply to you, the one that got you so worked up about me in the first place.

You get one free shot now, because I understand your (Arab) mindset. I understand you need to save face by responding to me now with a barrage of insults and lies- and I'll let you do it. <b>Once.</b>

Post a <b>second</b> message even <b>remotely</b> attacking me (under <b>any</b> alias, any thread ) and everybody gets to see your PM's + my reply.

<b>You will be publicly humiliated. You will be dishonored. Everyone will point and laugh at you. You will lose face, and as we both know, that's considered to be worse than death to you people.</b>

You'd kill your own sister to restore family honor if you had to, so simply refraining from posting at me a second time should be a relatively easy task for you to follow.

You get just one shot now, yassir. Make it count.

On further reflection, and reading more of your posts and the appreciation thread you linked to, http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73881&perpage=6&pagenumber=1, probably the most accurate take on your posts would be from GG who said:
My questioning your exit came from seeing so many traders who try to back away from an incorrect call they make after the fact by falsifying their results. You know the "Oh, that trade. Yeah, I exited that one right at the top" etc, etc, etc. You just get tired of hearing that. Not sure why so many are unwilling to admit to mistakes. I find it refreshing. Who only makes all the exact right calls in this profession? You know? As I mentioned, I don't know you and haven't been active in these forums for a while until recently. And the personal attacks against anyone here, like the one from brandon12, really don't cut it. That wouldn't be me boss. I do feel quite a bit of bragging on your part but I guess you're just proud of your abilities. :)
Again, it's refreshing to hear people, especially from people that are good at whatever they do, occasionally say, "Man, I really got that wrong. It just seemed like..........., because................"
I do appreciate involvement on these threads from anyone who has some skills and wants to share them whether they are trading skills or maybe just some humor or some thoughtful human skills. The way I look at it, we're here to help one another and enjoy, as best we can, each others thoughts and company. Some make that impossible. Thanks for your input, David. Appreciated by me.
    Good trading everyone. :)
BTW, if it turns out that the 63 today is the short term low, I'd consider the original call fairly accurate. At least it was a good heads up type of call.

  10. Why is it so hard for some people to believe that great traders can make great money? The only guy who faked blotters on this site was NYSEkiller. He was finally busted by none other than RM.

(I had NYSEkiller pegged as a fraud long before it was finally proven) http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1160160#post1160160 :D
