Oil CFD trading problem here in states?

Discussion in 'Trading' started by xxfunguyxx, Mar 31, 2009.

  1. Hi guys,

I have some issues. A while ago I asked about trading Brent Crude or OIL. You guys suggested ODL. ODL tells me United State doesnt allow CFD trading with OIL. I dont wish to trade future...as there is an expiration date. I was wondering how I can get around this issue? Anyone trade OIL CFDs in states?

Should I just trade oil ETF instead? Also any meta4trader offer Oil ETF charts? thanks

    thanks

AFAIK CFDs are not allowed by US law, CFDs were initially created to bypass the British stamp tax on stock trades. I suggest trading the QM e-mini, don't really see a problem regarding the expiration since you don't have to trade the front month if you need to hold for days/weeks.

  3. The real "issue" is that you need more money in your account. CFD's are meant for undercapitalized people.
