YM and ES once again out of whack. Spreaders puting on the L YM/ S ES trade in the right ratio. Again, more risky than ES/NQ, but still... nitro
Here is a company I would buy as an investment, but it doesn't trade on an exchange: http://www.recurrentenergy.com/ This is a good site to do research on similar companies: http://www.tradevibes.com/company/profile/recurrent-energy nitro
1270.xx SPX within sight. Strangely, VIX and the vol-of-vol is steady [although vol-of-vol will likely spike on a 1270 SPX break]. I tell you, you have to buy 1270.xx SPX for an intra day trade. 3 handle stop loss. Profit target? I would be completely flexible, especially if the fill comes towards the end of the day [> 1:30 CST]. I would be hesitant to take anything less than 10 handles, and even that is too cheap. If you do go green by 3 handles, move stop to B/E. Don't let a winner turn into a loser. If you do get stopped out, get ready to get back in, but that is complicated and I only suggest it to those that can stand the whipsaws. For pros only. nitro
SPX within sight of 1270.xx again. This time is more complicated. I would not buy "support" blindly here. That said, the market is terribly oversold, and it is well known that hedge funds have to meet large redemptions, so the selling is more structural than anything else. Therefore, I would say, watch NQ closely, and if that starts to move off the lows, buy with conviction. So hard to say where to take profits. My first inclination is to let it ride for a massive gain, say 15+ handles. But the odds are against that. To summarize, I would not buy 1270 SPX blindly just because it is support, and I would instead be looking for a sign that the selling pressure is done. Perhaps easier said, don't lose money on the way down, but position yourself for the upside. Think like an investor here and less a trader, even intra-day. YM/ES spreaders adding or renewing positions. Out of whack again. On a rally, buying +1 YM and +2 NQ and selling -1 ES is a winner. If we go lower, that loses money, but not as fast as naked long ES. I would hold that trade overnight, even for days. nitro
This 1290.xx area is showing resistance. Hard to tell if it is a mirage, because NQ cycles down just as ES wants to break out, and it is "suspiciously" always at 1290.xx SPX. Probably go nowhere fast without NQ. nitro
NQ/ES totally out of whack now. Spreaders initiating or adding L NQ S ES. May take days for rubber band to snap back. OTOH, the YM/ES spread rubber band has snapped back some. nitro
