This might seem straight out of left field but...have you asked IB? I know, I know, it's a crazy idea but sometimes I surprise even myself! I may be misinterpreting your post but it appears you believe that IB support options on oil and nat gas futures but you just can't find "them". Is it possible that IB do not support them in the first place? QM is IB's symbol for light sweet crude on NYMEX IIRC. As for recommendations, what recommendations are you looking for? A recommendation for an alternative broker that does support what you are looking for or a recommendation for what symbol to use?
haven't bothered calling IB - but figured someone here knows the deal before I did. I've traded QG and QM, but no options are available on those contracts. Also, nymex full size nat gas (ng) and oil (cl) options contracts do exist, just not on IB. Wondering if access to these products needs to be specially requested.
