As we all know, the teachers unions have turned most teachers into liberal schills. The solution is to get unions out of government.

You referred to the evil of humanity. That would be humanity's evil. It's possessive, not plural, since humanity already encompasses everyone. Unless, as noted by mrbill, you referred to the study of humanities, and the evils of such study.

But would such an idea even be conceivable 20 years ago? What line of reasoning/conditioning would allow such a display to be considered, "OK" or even possibly OK, now?
