ok - since we are trading wizards we should understand these numbers, no?
    I admit - I have no clue.
    Anyone care to help out?
    13-8
is that if you put up 13 $ or shekels you get back 8?
    ......or..

if you bet one dollar on bush, you win your dollar back plus 8/13 of a dollar (62 cents).

if you bet one dollar on kerry, you win your dollar back plus 13/8 of a dollar ($1.63)

  2. Perfect...here is a quote from the website above... I guess I better run off to the voting booth...

    ----------------------------------------

Who will stand for the next term in the Whitehouse? The US Presidential Elections take place in June 2004

    -----------------------------------------------------------

I may wait until November to vote....at least this time...

  3. So you don't know?
I frankly don't give a rats ass who wins I just like to understand those silly numbers.

  4. "Who will stand for the next term in the Whitehouse? The US Presidential Elections take place in' June 2004 '

Whats there to understand? There is no presidential election in June.

  5. That is a typo (maybe the line will change in June - whatever)! Please pay attention to the odds likely they are better than any inane poll you find at home.
I agree the numbers will become more interesting later this year.

If you bet $13 you win $8 (and you get your $13 stake back). Which is the same as "if you bet one dollar on bush, you win your dollar back plus 8/13 of a dollar (62 cents)"

  7. It is the same in both cases....
