Odds Czar: Simple Biases in the Futures Markets 2005

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Art Collins, Oct 16, 2005.

  1. Here are my futures biases for December 14.

A "1" means bullish bias. A "-1" means bearish bias. The total is the sum of biases. A positive sum will be long (L) bias. A negative sum will be a short (S) bias. A sum of zero will be a neutral (0) bias.

  4. Is anyone bothering to track the performance of any of this, especially the S&P recommendations? I just checked today's performance and he gave a signal to short the S&P, which opened near what would turn out to be the low of the day, and closed up 5.31. Hmm.

This is from Art's second post in this thread - emphasis added -

By assigning them +1/-1 strength/weakness values, however, and combining them with other such indicators, you can often get a whole significantly greater than the sum of the parts.

Perhaps it makes more sense now. It is not a standalone, never miss, "system".

  6. Yes, but it should show an edge by itself if it's worth adding to other systems. My question is if anyone has tracked the potential of Art's system.

I have been watching the bonds and notes and more often than not it offers some good insight as to a general direction.

Would be very easy to check as all the numbers are here to see - do a little homework and check it yourself.

    Make 'em pretty, Chris

  8. hey all
i'd welcome this sort of thing if anyone's interested. (at the moment i'm trying to meet a very tight deadline on a book that will be devoted to these types of biases).
i might suggest that you pay separate attention to days that flash signals at or in excess of +/- 3.
i will be speaking at the paris hotel, vegas tomorrow and won't be back home until tuesday.
    i appreciate all the input
