Odds Czar: Simple Biases In the Futures Market: 2008

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Art Collins, Dec 31, 2007.

  1. Art's futures biases for Oct 13.

A "1" means bullish bias. A "-1" means bearish bias. The total is the sum of biases. A positive sum will be long bias. A negative sum will be a short bias. A sum of zero will be a neutral bias.

Very interesting in the interest rates - don't ever remember seeing all zeros.

    Thanks again.

Sorry there was no post yesterday. The site kept locking me out. (I'll assume the universe intended no irony).

Anyway, I'll be dipping my big toe back into the short side of the S&P market on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be one of those days where it opens near what will prove to be its high for the day. I won't risk more than 25 points in any event.

I think there's a good chance Thursday could be the whippiest, hardest-to-hold-anything-day we've seen yet. Anything can happen, whether it be a rally to rival Monday's or a test of Friday's lows and beyond. I called it right on Wednesday, got a nice reward and now I feel I should take my ball and go home. I have absolutely no feel for what Thursday might bring and the CzarCharts shouldn't be trusted in such an ultra-off the page environment even if they were not indecisive.
The stock market has simply got to get less volatile for any intelligent investing to make any sense. At present, it's no more than the world's most dangerous crap shoot. On the other hand, I suppose one could take a reasonably intelligent flyer on the long side of the currencies as urged by the charts.

  8. Art,
I'm just starting to read your book and some of the things you have written on the net and I'm fast becoming a big fan. I can see that you're quite proficient with your trading and I'm guessing that you really enjoy the challenge. As I follow along with your thinking and methods I'm starting to enjoy it as well. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope it all comes back to you and then some.
