it's not just the top box. When you consider all three in the S&Ps, you get a neutral or 0 in the top box and -1 in each of the remaining. (-2).

Considering the totals, the Nasdaq admittedly contradicts while the Russell is neutral.

  2. Art's futures biases for May 14.

A "1" means bullish bias. A "-1" means bearish bias. The total is the sum of biases. A positive sum will be long bias. A negative sum will be a short bias. A sum of zero will be a neutral bias.

The Czarcharts are urging buys for Thursday in the bond complex. By implication, we might expect to see a corresponding sell-off in the indices, which is what the majority of the signals are predicting.

We should see a downside about-face in the indices on Friday if the majority Czar reading is any indication. the Russell is the best downside candidate.

The CzarCharts strongly favor an up move for Wednesday. Today's overall stock market was not nearly as weak as it seemed considering that every index other than the Dow rallied substantially off their lows. The Midcap actually closed up on the day. We'll see if this deceptive underlying strength has any follow-through.
