Politically this is more of a hot potato for team Biden and Kamala than it is for Trump. If this doesn't get settled by the end of the week, Biden will kind of be forced to push the Taft-Hartley act because the short-term political damage is just too devastating. It can and probably would cost Kamala the election. Giving my "expert" advice, I would tell team democrat to start showing some videos of this Union President, he's a real mob boss type, very easy to dislike. Also start exposing some of the ridiculous demands. This gets them some public sympathy as they can say, look at the jagoff we're dealing with, we must impose Taft-Hartley. It gets them thru the election. That's the good news if you're a democrat. The bad news is, as this mob boss type says in the video, they can force us back to the jobsite, they cannot force us to work efficiently. They can and will lay down on the job, damage freight, send freight to the wrong destination and just generally gum up the process. They have 90 days to fuck shit up, and that, while not totally hamstringing the economy, will do some serious damage. Ninety days out is what? January. Then they go on strike again, the supply chain is already weakened from the 90 days of game playing, and down she goes. This is week one for President Kamala with no previous administration to blame. Or they just let this strike linger, wrecks the economy, lay it off on Trump and watch 2025 burn to the ground. Either way, this ain't pretty if it goes much past a week, two tops. Watch at 1:00 and 8:15 in to the vid if all you want to see is Dagget. East/Gulf Coast Longshoreman Union President on a Potential Strike: "I Will Cripple You!" (youtube.com)
Well they are extra large but not Breathe Right. They don't really work for snoring so well but I find that I wake clearer headed, I have one nostril that tends to block. The strip and bedroom HEPA filter and all good.
Most of the trade that comes to the U.S. by shipping is from Asia across the Pacific so "these ships" going around South Africa is not causing trade disruptions to the U.S., mostly Europe. Europe is the one getting screwed by this so maybe they should handle it? Red Sea has shipping lines from Europe and Asia on ships flagged in Panama and Liberia and Vanuatu owned and oeprated by European engineers and Filipino below deck crews but it is the U.S. problem amirite? Not like any other country there has a navy....
Minor disruption to start off with since 37% of all imports come through California. Also most companies have inventories so 1-2 weeks of port stoppages just will cause major issues in the short term for people who cannot get their containers out or paying demurrage/detention. Management will cave since longshoremen control all the ports and offloading and loading vessels. Secondary strikes is also a big risk as they support their fellow union brothers. Wwe are at high season so expect this to be resolved within a week t avoid a crisis.
I'm not blindly supporting a candidate or party with my post, I'm supporting a policy. If Kamala came out and said she supported proj2025 I would give her my support wholeheartedly. The fact is both candidates are distancing themselves from proj2025. So, I think you're a little confused on what it means to be partisan. partisan adjective Adherent to a party or faction; especially, having the character of blind, passionate, or unreasonable adherence to a party. (emphasis mine)
It’s amazing how unpopular project2025 is given what you wrote it was about… makes you critically think why. you never said 10 bad things about trump and you conveniently ignore his treason.
