Now how are we going to figure out who controls the banks that control wall street that controls the media that isn't covering the Occupation of Wall Street that we don't know about yet? I guess we'll just have to wait for them to come up with good intro theme before the little girl says, "Is the media ignoring protests in the US? Stay tuned for the latest on the Occupation of Wall Street."

If it wasn't for the soviet union there would have been no competition to get to the moon and also Rocky IV would never have been made! In their day they were at the top of their game technologically, somehow that all fell apart for economic reasons. I agree though, the US/the west needs another opponent like that in order to stimulate some kind of competitive spirit.
Maybe china, and yes apparently they arn't hindered by little things like their own population or democracy getting in the way of progress.

New York City Police Foundation — New York

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD's main data center.

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly sent CEO and Chairman Jamie Dimon a note expressing "profound gratitude" for the company's donation.

"These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe," Dimon said. "We're incredibly proud to help them build this program and let them know how much we value their hard work."
