You tool. I made that statement because when these yuppies were the benefactors of that, there were no protests!!!!! LOL. Man you are an idiot. That was my whole point. That they only protest on the way down, not on the way up! Will you please have your mom read my original post to you and maybe she can help you understand it. No where did I say I wanted that shit. Just pointing out that its only when things get taken away they seem to get upset. Was that point really that hard for you to understand?

  2. OH, I haven't forgot about the dinner you WILL owe me. Matter of fact I was there last Sunday, Lombard location, with my brothers after a nice game of golf. You were going to give me some points on the election, right? :D Can't be an even line bet.

Yes, true that the left is taking ownership. Certain committed activist groups like Adbusters started it, and now you have more of the doctrinaire left elements chiming in. It's been largely a left-leaning critique of government.

You could be right. Again, not sure what it's like in Chicago. But I'm changing my opinion on where it will go based on what I've seen here. This is NYC though, where 90% of the city leans left anyway.

One thing I do disagree with though is the utility of specific demands (assuming the main unifying complaint is about the influence of money over politicians, and not iPads and handouts). Tahrir Square needed that -- they were overthrowing a corrupt autocrat. Here it's different. Like the Civil Rights movement, you're not overthrowing a government -- what works to make something stick is to mobilize and express discontent. But unlike that event, there is no Jim Crow legislation to overturn. No easy solution that you could ever consolidate into a demand.

Within this democracy, all you can do is boot the current crop of legislators.

Afraid? RCG, the ACLU is sitting their with their i-phones waiting for one cop to lay a finger on a protester so that they can claim police brutality. And they do have a constitutional right to assemble and protest provided they don't block traffic. There is no reason to disburse them. No one is afraid RCG, except for a lawsuit.

  5. I haven’t seen much of the protesters here in SF, but from what I have seen they appear to be the same communist jackasses who will protest anything. They are just doing it because that is what they do. They haul out the same signs for every freakin protest, no matter the cause. It’s embarrassing.

I have also seen some who appear as though they may actually be employable. It seems to me these people are looking for a villain on whom they can project their sense of inadequacy, nothing else. Wall Street and “corporate greed” is an easy target. I think they may also believe (in a very incoherent way) that their protesting is a counterpoint to the Tea Party, and they hope that they can drown out all the tax payers in this country who are pissed off at wasteful government spending and ridiculous rhetoric embodied by the Class Warrior in Chief.

Lets get a few things straight. :) First off, blow me, Grandpa. Take out those pearly-white dentures, spread those gummy cheeks, and give me your best Shirley Temple.

Second, you're backpedaling. You said a shit load more than that in that 5-page windy opener. Real estate bubbles and offshoring are a good thing. We never had it so good with all these flatscreens and ipods blah blah. Same old clap trap from you....

Third, who protests during a bubble, dipshit? Of course everyone likes it! That's why it's called a MANIA. And then you fault the plebs who had no oversight or control over the economy for not protesting the bubble, to begin with? Not surprised there's nary a single fucking mention of actual facts or economic conditions in your entire post. Just some anecdotal claptrap of how great you're little gaggle of super-friends are doing. Great. Fantastic. Get you're head out of your ass, Forest. Wake the fuck up. Things might be okay for your fatass and your buddies who've had the past 50 years to amass some wealth. But it's not okay for a shitload of people, the poor, especially the younger generation who are just coming up, out of college, with 200K in student loans and no job because your ilk sold us out to China and gave handjobs to each other when the Maestro blew two bubbles in a row. What did you think? Tens of thousands of people have nothing better to do than camp out on the dirty ass streets of new york for three weeks so they can bang some drums and get arrested? Are you that fucking deluded?

    Blah, blah, blah. Yawn.....

Now you are starting to bore me. And for the record, I'm in my 30's and most of my friends are 20 and 30 somethings. LOL.

I lift 5 days a week and I would bet a dime to a dollar, I'm in better shape then you.

And not once did I say the bubble times were good. I said it was good for "them". They took the upside and now they don't want the downside.

I think you have me confused with another Maverick. I haven't in 10 years on this site ever said any of the things you said I did.

Anyway, you are a boring guy and I'll let you be.

You might wanna get a clue before you go sounding off about things you know little about... Obviously you're a daytrader.... Take a look around. The world is changing. People are waking up to the fact the Country is run by mega-Corporations and Wallstreet. Stop being such a hater. Dismissing OWS because you won't look two inches beneath the surface and its nice to feed your superiority complex, is bullshit. Sure, lots of 'tards in P&R love to hate on anyone and anything cause it's good sport. Total ignorance. Most people here clamor for change all day then shout-down any real grassroots movement for change, even when it bites them in the ass. Ron Paul included. Fuck, that guy could turn this Country around and all I read is how great Rick Perry is. I'm not throwing my support behind any of the protesters. Media portrays most as communist. But recognizing there's a serious problem in America that threatens to railroad the entire country, is a start. What bothers me is people here can't even make the elementary distinction between the protesters' motives and their demands. They hear socialism mentioned once and write the entire thing off as delusional ranting. There's an appreciation thread dedicated to police arrest and beating videos, with all the regulars chiming in with an approving nod or thumbs up. It makes me wonder if anyone here has a fucking idea what's coming down the pipeline? Does anyone here even invest? Anyway. I'm in my 30s' too. You think im boring? Honestly, i couldn't give a shit what you think. But nice talking with ya. Hope you open your mind. Cause we're all in this boat together.
