The Karma car company which counts Al Gore as investor received a $529 million handout from the Feds. The car will be made in Finland by a company owned by Kaiser a prominent supporter of democratic party. BTW the Karma will be priced $20000 higher than Porsche Panamera. Al Gore and Barack Obama should buy a fleet each. I do not think it has much of a future.

I'll buy a kaiser and surprise her.

I'll buy a frazier and amaze her.

    I'll buy her a tucker.

Is this a high risk loan, or just one more example of corporate welfare, or if you will corporate socialism? I laugh when I read from ET'ers how socialist the U.S. has become. In truth the U.S. has perfected capitalism to the point where citizens may be paying nearly as much for corporate welfare as for social welfare that they complain so vehemently about.

I will say this: It would seem that we in the U.S. are more likely to reap a profit from a dollar spent on Head Start than than a dollar "loaned" on the Fisker. So which is the better long term 'investment"?

Smells like old fashion cronyism to me, more "Hope and Change" anyone?
