what is the cheapest way to buy 1 share of a company and get their stock certifcate? Almost all direct purchase plans have minimums over $250. Oneshare.com seems like a ripoff Would doing this through IB be viable? I'm also checking out sharebuilder.com. I've e-mailed them and asked them what it would take to accomplish this. any other suggestions?? thanks! mnx
Are you buying a specific stock, or just any stock? You can buy old certificates off of ebay and the like that are kinda cool. Old rail companies and such.... not sure if that will do for you, however. Thanks, - The New Guy http://search.ebay.com//search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=stock+certificates
I think I'd actually like to have ownership in the stocks as well.. I dug it up on the sharebuilder website that they charge $30 to mail out a certificate... guess there's no cheap way to do it...
haha that's funny, that's why I was looking at the ebay one's at one point.... never thought to get a real one however, that's great! Thanks, - The New Guy
Check and see if the company has a direct investment program. That would afford you the cheapest access.
