You gonna raise an army? The colonials had to raise and army -- and Great Britain had a military supply line that was thousands of miles across an ocean by sailing ships. Still for the most part the colonists were losing the war with a few victories thrown in. Keep in mind the colonists only won in the end because France intervened (as much as most Americans don't like to admit it). The "Peace of Paris" included France, Spain and the Netherlands as allies of the colonists. The Treaty was more about meeting their demands of Great Britain. The U.S. was just a side-show --- in fact the U.S. peace treaty was a separate document labelled the "Treaty of Paris".
Actually I believe that Trump is an idiot for doing so. It is likely only going to incite more violence.
Most people agree that the cop should be arrested and charged. This belief is nearly universal across the U.S. They are taking steps towards this now according to the D.A. and mayor.
Perfect. Maybe this will end it all. Probably would have been wise to do that from the get go. Like if you or I would have done that. I get it, being a cop ain’t easy and in certain situations I’d shoot first and ask later. This is clearly 100% without a shadow of a doubt not one of those.
A few militants and guerillas ended The US oppression of Iraq, Vietnam and Afghanistan for the most part by sending troops home in body bags daily. We would have been there longer if all they were doing was peaceful protesting
The reason they won't assault the police station is because they'll be shot. Rioters aren't that stupid and nowhere near that committed to the cause as to actually put their lives on the line. Better to attack the easy targets of opportunity. Little to no risk of anything other than being arrested for what most likely results in a misdemeanor.
This is the root of the problem. Justice seems to move very slowly when it's a cop or a political hack in question, and very swift when it's a average American. No question this cop should be in a cell with no bail just like a regular guy would be if he killed someone in a similar fashion. Something this obvious doesn't happen, the system is broken and broken badly.
A few militants? I don't see the comparison at all. Furthermore I think the government gets heavy with this, these wanna be guerrillas will back off very quickly, same was the wanna be militiamen would do as they talk shit about revolution.
