    Captain Obvious never said that.

Now you answer one question - Do you believe the correct reaction to the death of George Floyd is:
    1. Peaceful demonstrations demanding justice.
    2. Rioting, looting, violence and burning down the community
Please simply pick either 1 or 2.

Keeping in mind that George Floyd's family has already provided their answer on this.

  2. True, but they do themselves no long term good as is evidenced by years of one riot after another, destroying one community after another, and nothing changes for the better. Every time this happens it gives ammunition to the police argument saying, see what we're dealing with, these people are wildly violent so we must use this excessive force. They can protest, shutdown roads and access to buildings, get in the face of political leadership, but when they start this large scale violence then whatever support they may have goes away by in large.

You won't get an honest answer. You'll get snark, a redirect or a question in response to your question. There is a 20% chance it will have the "inb4" in it.

Apologies to captain, read his "fried" comment as "fired"

Peaceful protest haven't brought any changes though.History has shown when that happens humans turn to violence. The best solution is to bring justice to bad cops imo but our justice system refuses to do that.

  6. Well we agree that our "justice" system is corrupt as hell, broken on many levels, and has been for a very long time. There is no quick fix unfortunately but this level of violence is unlikely to bring the needed progress.

I agree with most your post but throughout history violence has lead to change and eventually it will with this issue when the violence gets worse.

The part you are forgetting is that rioting and violence does not solve most issues. Historically the government just crushes the rioters with military style force. -- and the issue does not get solved.

Problems are far more likely for an issue to be solved with peaceful protests with full media coverage. This has taken down many governments in the recent years as people wanted changed.

Just look back through your history book - the Velvet Revolution, etc. etc.

How about starting with arresting the officer and his accomplices. Fired? Fuck fired. I agree fuck peaceful protests. Burn everything in site until the mo fo is behind bars. Sorry man peaceful protest doesn’t get them any closer to resolving this issue.

I won’t look back through history but I disagree. It happens too much, it’s time for violence.

If that cop killed my son like that he would be dead. Or at least I would for trying.
