Birds of a feather, Obama and his Champions.

The U.S. ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, recently told a conference hosted by the European Jewish Union that Israel is to blame for growing anti-Semitism harbored by people of Muslim faith.

“A distinction should be made between traditional anti-Semitism, which should be condemned and Muslim hatred for Jews, which stems from the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians,” Gutman reportedly said, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. “He also argued that an Israeli-Palestinian peace treaty will significantly diminish Muslim anti-Semitism.”

According to the account in the Israeli paper, “The legal experts at the event were visibly stunned by Gutman’s words, and the next speaker offered a scathing rebuttal to the envoy’s remarks.”

Gutman was a major fundraiser for President Obama’s 2008 election campaign. He bundled $500,000 for Obama, according to OpenSecrets.org, personally giving at least $2,300 to the campaign.

In 2009, Obama nominated Gutman, a Washington, D.C. attorney, to be ambassador to Belgium.

  2. What is bothering you.... the fact that both Jews and Muslims have a hard-on for each other or that Gutman gave $2.300 to the campaign ?

Israel has been stealing land from the Palestinians for decades. The settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law. So Obama's ambassador is right.

Which is disputed by Isreal and the land was acquired after they were attacked in the 6 day war when the Arabs tried to take the Israeli land.

Regardless, the Ambassador was way out of line as is the Obama administration IMO.

And another point was that this was a dispicable quid pro quo appointment to reward a contribution bundler. This crap needs to stop under any and all Presidents.

Wrong. While tensions were high between Israel and the Arab countries, and Egypt, Jordan, and Syria had massed troops near their borders with Israel, it was Israel that started the actual fighting. The war began with Israel bombing the Egyptian airforce jets while they were still on the ground in Operation Focus. Only after that attack occurred did Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq initiate attacks against Israel.

As it happens, during that same war Israel attacked the U.S.S. Liberty with full knowledge that it was a U.S. intelligence ship from the time they started the attack. Most likely it was a false flag operation, the intent being to sink the ship and kill everyone on board, and then blame it on Egypt, in order to get the U.S. to fight Egypt.

With allies like that, who needs enemies?

Clearly provoked. Essentially started by the Arabs preparing to attack Israel.

The Israelis were happy to have the war as it gave them an opportunity to grab a lot of land.

  8. Jihadists have basically taken over Egypt, thanks to our idiot president.

It really doesn't matter who you think is to blame for Arab-Israeli tensions, no one is served by more war, yet that is what is on the horizon. This time however, it may end with some mushroom clouds.

  9. Belgium has one of the biggest jewish communities in Europe, and there even is a Jewish newspaper with lobygroup here.

They cry about everything, and I do mean about everything...

Anyway, they just released a statement they have no issue with the ambassador statements.

They say it is a witch hunt or political US games set up for Ginrich or what's his name....

  10. His name is Newt....
