No, I am saying that people like you need all ten slots to be competitive. AA states that one slot per ten jobs must be available for a minority. Since you cannot complete in a ten man race and be at least ninth, that speaks more to you than it ever will to AA.
In the private sector qualified is up to the owner, in the public sector the standards should be set by policy makers and apply universally to potential hires. Granting special rights to minority groups IS unfair and biased.. so if you are going to support that then quit ragging on others for racism. A personal belief that you are 'better' than someone else simply based on their appearance is far less egregious than LAW that does the same. And again, we are free people and we believe whatever we so choose, the govt has a Constitutional obligation to treat every citizen equally under law.
As someone posted above, we've had this argument numerous times. Let me add my perspective though. If you look at social policy, you have to admit there has been an enormous swing to the liberal side over the past 40 or so years. We can debate whether or not it was beneficial. I would say some was, some obviously wasn't. We have for example massively increased numbers of single mothers, most of whom require welfare. It is no secret that their kids tend to be problems. No pol can say this of course without being pilloried as hating women or being insensitive. Abortion was forced on people through a Supreme Court edict that even liberal law professors admit lacked any real constitutional basis. Now conservatives see the same thng happening with what they regard as the bedrock of civilized society, traditional marriage. We have an administration that has set a high water mark for trampelling on the religious liberties of traditional American denominations, even as he has bent over backwards to accommodate muslims. So conservatives tend to feel they have been fighting a constant rearguard action against those who would marginalize traditonal religion, marriage, values etc. They see the results of these progressive policies as largely disastrous. They don't understand why the values and standards that served our country so well for most of its existence are rather suddenly being treated as bigoted hate speech that puts one beyond the pale of civilized society. A lot of us are fed up with being lectured to by idiots and perverts, many of whom live off our tax dollars. We're fed up with being accused of "intolerance" by people who have no tolerance themselves for opposing viewpoints. To call this taliban-llike attitudes or behavior is ridiculous.
News for you RCG. It is illegal to have slots designated by race. (unless they are designated for blacks) AA says give this black guy a higher score just because he is black. If it isn't high enough, make it higher. To be fair, there should be no designations for any race. Let it stand on the merits. But you can't handle that.

The were taking out culture, values, morals... the foundation of America. This is what happens when you strip a nation of its moral compass. Then the leftists replace the idea of an American rising up from the melting pot... with diversity... and you truly screw up a nation.
