  1. Oh man. I'd prefer not to defend him, but saying that his actions have had the worst effects on our financial system, ever, totaling everyone who has ever been elected - in less than a year - is completely asisine. I mean he's good, but I don't think he's that good.

Maestro, if you don't mind, a friendly correction. The future debt, compared to current projections, may actually be reduced by actions now and in the next three years. Let us hope so. As for the debt incurred this year, that is due primarily to the combined forces of the U.S. Congress and the Bush/Cheney administration, and prior administrations.

  3. You are correct. It may also be increased axiomatically by the administration, whose demonstrated predelection to raise taxes and public debt should be alarming to anyone who pays taxes. No President in US history has put the people's butts in such a sling as Obama has, with no plan to pay for it all... except more taxes. Hope does not reduce debt or eliminate interest paid to service the national debt which, by the way, has not seen a principle payment since Obama took office...

Please understand that I share your concern. I consider inflation to be just another form of taxation and in some respects I prefer direct taxation to inflation if we have to have either. While we hope the Obama administration does not worsen our rather dim economic prospects, and it well could, I think you would have to agree that at least up to now the Obama administration has had very little to do with the current economic mess.

If we are going to insist on placing blame for the current economic situation, perhaps we should focus more on Greenspan, Cox, and the glee with which the former administration invaded Iraq while ignoring the counsel of our Secretary of State and those in the CIA who raised questions about the reliability of the intelligence reports. We also should give appropriate credit to the previous Congress for being a little too gullible, don't you think?

  5. No point on hanging on Obamas dick

This entire mess started decade ago with a third rate actor who acted his way into the presidency.

    SnL Bailout

    Created the Al Quaeda

Started the republican unamerican mantra of increased govt spending while reducing revenue

Started the entire illegal immigration mess with his amnesty programs to help farmers and meat industry

Started the republican policy of engaging in useless wars

Began the process of selling govt to the highest bidder.

Began the NAFTA process to help export jobs over seas

and for the right wing morons who frequent this site. Bush the monkey and his republican unamerican goons in congress pushed the $1 Trillion bailout of wall street and the too-big-to-fail BS.

In short. Keep republicans out of power and we'll be ok. Fucking imbeciles are all incompetent and crooked.

  6. As I have posted elsewhere, Obama is just a black Bush. I know it really matters nothing which party is in the House. They are two sides of the same coin. However, the numbers, even the official ones from govt, show quite decisively that Obama has made our economy worse and has no plans to reverse his practice. Quite an accomplishment in less than a year. Lynden Johnson began the race to the bottom via exporting living-wage jobs, followed by every President through present, especially NAFTA and GATT, designed by Bush Sr. and signed into law by Bill Clinton.

Words mean nothing in politics, but smoke to confuse, impress and play with the masses, the people who pay for it all. Actions are the only measure of stature, for good or not. Obama confirmed Mr. Printing Press Bernanke this year... have you seen the money supply jump in this year alone? Yes, without a doubt, Obama is responsible for this year's inflation and the underlying loss at the dollar level. The numbers are obvious, the timing unmistakeable, the choices by design.

The people's "representatives in the House and Senate" are a joke; they are servants to the elite and their institutions, including the Fed. They have not heeded the will of the people for a long time now, and they would indeed be fools to do so, given their reward for the opposite. They make hundreds of decisions per session, of their own will and those influencing them, but the people only get to make a choice once every two years. Not that I would favor a straight democracy either, since that is a proven disaster.

Also as I have written elsewhere, I care not about politics or about the economy as a whole anymore, as me and mine are not affected by it, and it is out of my individual control. The nation I care about, the economy not at all.

Those supporting Obama have the propensity of blaming anyone but the ones at the controls. It simply doesn't fly. End.

  7. Oh puhleeze the democrats could have stopped the bailout at ANY TIME of their choosing.

As a matter of fact not only were they (dems)virtually orgasmic at the spending, some dem hacks were miff that the spending was just too NIGGARDLY!
