  2. Yes, this is about Obama's mistake.

However, many of the people who are lathering and spitting up bile about a little mistake by Obama are the same boils of humanity who blindly defended Bush and Cheney's mistake at best of not getting the facts before starting a preemptive war...and at worst a planned misrepresentation of non truth to convince the American people to go to war.

The point is that this attack on Obama which is justified to a degree, mistakes should be pointed out and people should take responsibility for their mistakes, would never have been launched by the right if it the same level of mistake were committed by Bush/Cheney....

Even now Bush/Cheney won't admit Iraq war was a huge mistake, which it was of course. One of the biggest blunders by a US president of all time...

  3. Tdog, still waiting for you to enlighten us all as to when/where Obama laid out the facts he knew before making his comment.

Also, you like to leave gaps in your story- do you honestly think the police arrested him after he showed his ID for no reason?

  4. Why don't you have the brass to just call him nigger?

What's with you racist white supremacists anyway?

Just call a spade a spade, call him a nigger...

    You know you want to...

  5. ...in his own home, where the law does not require him to be polite. Had there been a legal basis for the arrest, I doubt the charges would have been summarily dropped.

  6. I'm not going to spoon feed you, because next you will want me to chew your food for you. Watch the ENTIRE last few minutes of the press conference where he answered the question asked of him. Not choice snippets fed by Fox, but the entire response. It was measured.
Those are the facts not in dispute. If you're going to comment on the news, then you should make some effort to actually watch the news. As for the "reasons," we'll see how that plays out in due course.

  7. Nice try. I am not the one who insulted the police without verifying the facts of the case.

Based on the evidence, the racist seems to be your president.

  8. "Nice try?" You're the one who mentioned color. Obama did not mention color in direct response to the question and specifically regarding the case at hand. He concluded with a comment about broader issues, but not as it related specifically this case. The racism is all yours. Own up.

Either you are being intentionally obtuse or you are just naturally dim. Either way, have a nice day.

    Tom B

Did Obama inject race into the situation? You be the judge. Following is the full transcript of the Gates question and answer:

Q Thank you, Mr. President. Recently Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested at his home in Cambridge. What does that incident say to you and what does it say about race relations in America?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I should say at the outset that "Skip" Gates is a friend, so I may be a little biased here. I don't know all the facts. What's been reported, though, is that the guy forgot his keys, jimmied his way to get into the house, there was a report called into the police station that there might be a burglary taking place -- so far, so good, right? I mean, if I was trying to jigger into -- well, I guess this is my house now so -- (laughter) -- it probably wouldn't happen. But let's say my old house in Chicago -- (laughter) -- here I'd get shot. (Laughter.)

But so far, so good. They're reporting -- the police are doing what they should. There's a call, they go investigate what happens. My understanding is at that point Professor Gates is already in his house. The police officer comes in, I'm sure there's some exchange of words, but my understanding is, is that Professor Gates then shows his ID to show that this is his house. And at that point, he gets arrested for disorderly conduct -- charges which are later dropped.

Now, I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that, but I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge Police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there is a long history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That's just a fact.

As you know, Lynn, when I was in the state legislature in Illinois, we worked on a racial profiling bill because there was indisputable evidence that blacks and Hispanics were being stopped disproportionately. And that is a sign, an example of how, you know, race remains a factor in this society. That doesn't lessen the incredible progress that has been made. I am standing here as testimony to the progress that's been made.

And yet the fact of the matter is, is that this still haunts us. And even when there are honest misunderstandings, the fact that blacks and Hispanics are picked up more frequently and oftentime for no cause casts suspicion even when there is good cause. And that's why I think the more that we're working with local law enforcement to improve policing techniques so that we're eliminating potential bias, the safer everybody is going to be.

  10. I watched the video, I have the transcript.

What's common with your story and Obama's, is that you both like to leave out the facts as to WHY Gates was arrested.

It's a little game you and Obama like to play - leaving out KEY facts so you can paint the picture the way you want it to look.
