Terrible isn't it? It's as if Bush were still in office and the left was picking on every little thing they could find.

  2. I think Obama was wrong for commenting on this situation without having all the facts.

    Fine, his bad.

However, I think starting a preemptive war in Iraq that cost thousands of lives, cost trillions of dollars in the long run, contributed to the run up in the price of oil, etc.....

...without having all the facts is a wee bit worse...

Naturally...those who are savagely critical of Obama's mistake in this case were the same ones who so strongly supported Bush's wildly mistaken blunder of the invasion of Iraq...

  3. I agree, as it is a point I made earlier in this thread. He qualified his comment by limiting it to the few facts that were not in dispute. And while more details will surface in time, it is against those few established details that a few preliminary observations can be made.

Generally speaking, a man doesn't like to be fucked with in his own home when he has done nothing wrong. Different people react in different ways when they feel violated in their own homes. An experienced police officer should be sensitive to this basic fact. So once it was established that the officer was dealing with the home owner and that there was no wrongdoing of any kind, his reason for being there ceased. He should have recognized that he was dealing with an emotional man whose feelings of violation and indignity were governing his behavior. In his own home. And from appearances, rather than choose to diffuse the volatile and unnecessary situation, the officer apparently decided to escalate it. It appears that there was some bad judgment all around. In the man's home.

  4. Actually, no. Only the stupid things. Really. He handled the immediate aftermath of 9/11 quite well, and he was right to go into Afghanistan. Everything else is pretty much up for grabs.

  5. That's fine. You got me. However, be sure to try and distinguish between carelessness (typo) and ignorance. A mistake exists either way, but it is a question of degree, and one is more likely to be perpetuated. Guess which one I think you'll make next time.

  6. Common sense says the president should have stayed out of this completely and let the proper channels take care it, if anything went on improperly. He just let some of his "hood" mentality get out. Looks real bad.

  7. And if this had been an event between two people he knew nothing about, then it would have been the right thing to do. But Obama knows the guy, which is specifically why he was asked for a comment. And it was against a limited set of undisputed facts that he qualified his comment. What you got was an honest response from a fellow human being rather than a parry from a calculating politician. Had he refused to comment even though he knew the fellow, no doubt you would have accused him of being unable to take a stand or some such. Your "hood mentality" comment identifies you for the bottom feeding troll that you are. You're really quite vile, all the more so because you wear it as a badge of honor.

  8. Thunderdog, with all due respect the fact that it was his friend makes it even worse. President needs to set the example of impartiality. His emotions are overriding his legal training ( and I am assuming the JD he got was worth something). but with this guy who knows.

Unrestraint of emotions=hood. You truly are a bleeding-heart liberal who apparently does not know the real world or chooses to ignore it.

  9. The fact is that Obama thinks the Police acted stupidly only because his black friend was involved. Proof of this lies in the fact that he know nothing about the incident.

  10. Can you see why THAT is a racial comment?
