You are forgetting that Obama lost one of the tools in his arsenal. Perhaps if Teleprompter One had answered the question, this controversy could have been avoided. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jiow64UjuQQ&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jiow64UjuQQ&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
He is back on the tube running his yap about the incident right now. Trying to lecture the public. He is the one needing a lecture.
Drip... ...Drip... ...Drip Obama says regrets remark in racially charged case WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Friday he should have chosen his words more carefully when he said police "acted stupidly" in arresting a prominent black Harvard scholar, touching off a debate over race. Obama made his comments after talking on the telephone to Sgt. James Crowley, the Cambridge, Massachusetts, police officer who made the arrest, and discussing inviting Crowley and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates to the White House for a beer. "Because this has been ratcheting up and I obviously helped to contribute ratcheting it up, I wanted to make clear in my choice of words I think I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically," Obama said. "And I could have calibrated those words differently." http://www.reuters.com/article/dome...Type=RSS&feedName=domesticNews&rpc=22&sp=true

Obama should have talked to our resident 'obtuse Thundy' so he would understand better what Obama himself had said.....and thought too....lol *************** CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts (CNN) -- President Obama said Friday he spoke with the police officer who arrested a Harvard professor and told the officer he did not mean to malign the Cambridge Police Department. President Obama on Friday explains to reporters the details of a phone conservation with Sgt. James Crowley. President Obama on Friday explains to reporters the details of a phone conservation with Sgt. James Crowley. Obama's phone conversation came about two hours after police unions said Obama should apologize to members of the Cambridge Police Department for saying they acted stupidly, the president of a city police union said Friday. Dennis O'Connor, president of the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, also took aim at Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, who reportedly has characterized the arrest as "every black man's nightmare and a reality for many black men." Echoing the words of arresting officer Sgt. James Crowley -- who handcuffed Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. last week -- O'Connor said he was dismayed that the president and governor would opine on the issue without all the details. "It's noteworthy that both qualified their statements by saying they did not have all the facts," O'Connor said as members of his and another police union stood behind him. "Usually, when one hears those words, one would expect the next words to be 'so I cannot comment.' Instead, both officials, both admitted friends of professor Gates, proceeded to insult the handling of this case."
'Scofflaw' Obama Grudge Against Cambridge Police? Thursday, July 23, 2009 8:34 PM "One reason Barack Obama may have been so critical of the Cambridge Police Department is that he might have a grudge against the law enforcement agency. Obama, who attended Harvard Law School from 1988 to 1991, lived in Cambridge and apparently didn't like the fact he was frequently hit with parking tickets. In all, Obama received 17 tickets for parking violations, and he did not pay 15 of them until a local newspaper exposed him as a scofflaw. According to a 2007 Associated Press story, Obama was a parking ticket deadbeat for more than a decade â and felt the need to pay the 15 outstanding parking ticketsonly as his presidential campaign began in earnest in 2007. Here is the Associated Press story detailing Obama's negligence: Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama got more than an education when he attended Harvard Law School in the late 1980s. He also got a healthy stack of parking tickets, most of which he never paid. The Illinois senator shelled out $375 in January â two weeks before he officially launched his presidential campaign â to finally pay for 15 outstanding parking tickets and their associated late fees. The story was first reported Wednesday by The Somerville News. Obama received 17 parking tickets in Cambridge between 1988 and 1991, mostly for parking in a bus stop, parking without a resident permit and failing to pay the meter, records from the Cambridge Traffic, Parking and Transportation office show. He incurred $140 in fines and $260 in late fees in Cambridge in all, but he paid $25 for two of the tickets in February 1990. Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign, dismissed the tickets as not relevant. "He didn't owe that much and what he did owe, he paid," Psaki said on Wednesday. "Many people have parking tickets and late fees. All the parking tickets and late fees were paid in full."
