That is not true.dems wanted to expand medicaid, they didn't have the votes and had to settle for obamacare because of the republicans and few dems who are owned by the insurance industry
all the dems are owned by insurance... its why we did not have single payer. which is what we should have had.
You are only going to get insurance companies to insure people with pre existing conditions by forcing everyone to buy insurance you are living in a fantasy world.Your ideas are good, but not possible when special interest groups owns our politicians
I always wondered why the dems didn't target the high risk segment in need with a gov program when they had ALL the power (since the pubs wouldn't address it). They just went for the whole thing. That's why I feel this is a bad law. They changed it for everyone for the benefit of the few. And where is the tort reform? Actually, I don't wonder at all why it was passed the way it was when they had all the power. Dem supporters who look in the mirror and think this isn't about control are deceiving themselves. Even if it's not the intent of the gov (questionable), it will end that way.
AK dude, they had the votes for obamacare, so how did they not have the damn votes for the public option. No repubs voted for obamacare, so what is the the difference between the 2? Either way this is bad, damaging policy (obamacare) to the ideal of liberty.
I disagree, if they work out overall through an increase in volume and/or incentives they could insure the uninsured for a profit, they would absolutely do it. That is the approach which someone that values the free market would take. Also, anyone interested in preserving individual freedom would NEVER support obamacare.
Because some insurance company owned dems would not vote for the public option I agree Obamacare is bad, what we had before was worse though
We can look at Romneycare as a guide imo <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZF8wQ0p31TM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
