Obama Welcomes Muslim Brotherhood That Has Ties To Sadat Assassination And Al-Qaeda

  1. Though I hate and distrust them, every American administration had either direct or indirect contacts with them. As for assassinatin Saddat or having anything to do with it, you might want to verify your sources.

The United States has resumed contacts with Egypt"s Muslim Brotherhood despite Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice"s 2005 commitment not to "engage" with the banned group — a move that could strain relations with President Hosni Mubarak"s government.

U.S. Embassy officials said they are acting in conformity with a worldwide policy of dealing with political parties that are represented in their national parliaments. Muslim Brotherhood members can only run for Egypt"s parliament as independents, and U.S. officials say they have met them only in that capacity."Our rare contacts with the nominally independent members of parliament have occurred only in the full light of day, with many other Egyptians present, including members from the ruling National Democratic Party," said Francis J. Ricciardone, the U.S. ambassador to Egypt.

Asked whether the dealings were approved by Miss Rice, who ruled out such contacts in June 2005, Mr. Ricciardone said: "Of course, we report fully to Washington on these contacts."

  2. Who Egyptians or Arabs in general? Speaking from experience I would say most Arab folk are fairly honest in matters of commerce, the Gulf states probably have the highest proportion of dishonest types and defaulters.

Arabs, honest in commerce maybe; but that wasn't the topic or what my comment was directed at.

    lol.

Ok, so you're probably a young guy and don't have a housefull of persian rugs like I do. My experience dealing with rug dealers worldwide has been a lesson on arabs and persians. They are *not* honest in commerce. You have to employ an appraiser at every step and the goods are *never* worth what the merchant is asking. Its no wonder they have a barter society.

  5. Not so young actually and I can honestly say they are not that bad. I have had greater issues with other regions.

Yeah, I'm talking about rug dealers so maybe not completely representative. After all, you can't judge american business people based on experiences with american used car dealers.

  8. "Mubarak's regime feels Obama is pushing the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood against U.S. interests," said WND's Jerusalem bureau chief and senior reporter Aaron Klein. "They are genuinely trying to understand why Obama is seemingly championing the anti-regime protests."

Top members of the Egyptian government say they feel betrayed by President Obama, charging that he is acting against American interests

Klein said that a top Egyptian diplomat with whom he has developed a rapport over the last few years asked him earlier this week to explain Obama's motivation to support the opposition to Mubarak.

"I told him none of this should be a surprise," said Klein, "that the Obama administration has developed an extensive relationship over the last few years with allies of the Muslim Brotherhood.

  9. Mosab Hassan Yousef son of a Hamas co-founder who became a Christian, a spy for Israel offers a rare perspective on the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood – at once the spawn of nearly every major Islamic terrorist group as well as "mainstream" operatives in the U.S. such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Yousef, who recently was granted asylum in the U.S. after the Department of Homeland Security tried to deport him, told WND in a telephone interview Americans must understand that the ultimate goal of the highly influential Brotherhood is not terrorism but to establish a global Islamic state over the entire world.

"If they can establish this in a peaceful manner, that's fine," he said. "But they are required by the Quran to establish this global Islamic state on the rubble of every civilization, every constitution, every government."
