Obama: We Have Fallen Short In Afghanistan

In remarks with Afghan president Hamid Karzai at the White House this afternoon, President Barack Obama said the U.S. has fallen "short of the ideal" in Afghanistan.

Personally, I think we went into Afghanistan with the wrong mission. The mission should have been solely to capture or kill Osama bin Laden and as many Al Queda as we could while hunting him. But we farmed out the mission to the Afghanies at Tora Bora when we should have had a huge force surround those mountains. If we had captured him there we could have left that country to it's own devices which is what is going to happen when we leave the place anyway. It would have saved a lot of blood and treasure.

 

So Obama is saying that the Bush Iraq surge was a success and the Afghan Obama surge was a failure.

 

If you recall it was a half assed surge anyway. The generals said they needed more troops but Obama knew better. Or, he thinks he did.

Someone said the Germans were taking over in Afhgan. I haven't checked it out though.

 

Yeah, Obama has to declare that America has lost though he isn't personally responsible.
