O'bama is about as Irish as Bush is from Madagascar. And the Irish are socialists. Is there any wonder they cheer?
But not particularly socialist. Looking at the gini coefficient, 10% top/bottom ratio, infant mortality, and life expectancy data, to start with, Ireland is pretty weak in comparison to the rest of the developed world. Sure, they're stronger than the US, but so is everyone.
Ahh, yes the gini coefficient; the measure of a nation's "equality" invented by the Italian Fascist regime under Mousolini. Funny how this "strength" in the gini is negatively correlated with actual economic strength.
