A topic that the right doesn't want to discuss, is why so many people are unhealthy in America. Once again, follow the money to the corporations who manufacture the food that makes people unhealthy... The average person can't afford organic healthy food, that's a fact. Why put so much sugar in the food, chemicals, additives, etc? Profit, profit, profit... The number one cause of illness in America is the food Americans eat produced by the big corporations, and ag business who poisons the ground food is gown in. Boil it all down, look to the essential elements that are the underlying cause... ...you will nearly always find corporations taking shortcuts which are unhealthy to Americans to make a profit...
I would say they don't want to discuss it cause they don't care. I don't either, people can live and do whatever they want with their health, if they want to drink, smoke, get high, eat fast food, not exercise, unprotected sex etc, they are going to pay more for insurance and prolly not live as long as people who don't (and I do some of these things). As for the companies making money off of this shit... good for them. If an individual is not responsible for their own health, then what are they responsible for?
If you knew that a food producer was making food that poisoned people slowly...you wouldn't care about it? Are you one of those American patriots who doesn't care about any American but yourself?
I liked pabst, he was always really pissed, but had a good writing style and solid logic on economic issues IMO.
Nope, I'm one of those Americans that minds his own business and let's people do what they want. If people know the food is literally poisonous (which would obviously be ILLEGAL), and still want to eat it... go right ahead. You believe in evolution right, survival of the fittest, those genes will be removed from the pool eventually. BTW fast food, while certainly unhealthy, is NOT poison. It would give a starving person enough nourishment not to die.
That's funny. I thought the same thing when the "newpie" used the word "duplicitous." That was one of Kurt's favorite words.
I aqree with you that insurers being exempt is an over the top injustice. I see no tangible reason. Perhaps lifting the anti-trust exemption, in itself, would fuel a more competitive environment. (that would allow coverage to be sold nationally) The wealthiest man in the world is an automobile insurer. Why doesn't Geico expand into health, in even one state?
Very funny because a couple of years ago I used to read EVERY post of his! I'm far more to the center of pabst but I enjoyed his words! BTW: I dig your name. Very clever!!
