Obama to seek power to shrink government......what?

  1. WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will ask Congress on Friday for greater power to shrink the federal government, and his first idea is merging six sprawling trade and commerce agencies whose overlapping programs can be baffling to businesses, a senior administration official told The Associated Press.

Obama will call on Congress to give him a type of reorganizational power last held by a president when Ronald Reagan was in office. The Obama version would be a so-called consolidation authority allowing him to propose mergers that promise to save money and help consumers. The deal would entitle him to an up-or-down vote from Congress in 90 days.

  2. Someone tell me how Ron Paul is not a factor in this race again. He's only two states into the primary and has the sitting POTUS echoing his rhetoric and possibly implementing 'Ron Paul' type reforms. I refer to them as 'Ron Paul' type reforms because he's been the loudest voice for shrinking the size and scope of the federal government.

Win lose or draw, Ron Paul has proven himself a powerful force for change.

Ron Paul for the WIN!

Not about the MAN but all about the IDEALS!

  4. Very interesting. Makes sense, merging duplicity to save money. I wonder how the Obama haters will spin this to be a negative thing? Who knows, maybe they won't?

I watched the video, again, idiots guide to the NWO. One of the definitions fo our current 2 party system being the craps game, with 2 sides. The2 sides may want to kill each other, but fight togethe to keep the craps game going. Any chance of the up/down vote on this consolidation happening in a positive vein? Your thoughts guys?

  5. I think reducing spending has to be seen as a positive and if Obama's proposed consolidation actually accomplishes this, Congress won't stand in the way.

  6. Don't believe him... yet another BIG FAT LIE FROM THIS PIECE OF SHIT!

Odumbo campaigned on "Reducing Bush Deficits"... then has gone on to run up nearly $9 TRILLION in deficits in his first term. LIES, LIES, AND MORE LIES.... EVERYTHING, LIES! HE SHOULD BE DRAWN AND QUARTERED FOR THIS... SO SHOULD CONGRESS FOR GOING ALONG WITH HIS INTENTIONS TO DESTROY AMERICA!

Personally I'm not particularly troubled by an initiative to consolidate some of these agencies. I don't really see a sinister motive. I would appreciate it if someone could explain the problem to me.

I'm far more troubled by the president asking for another trillion dollars of debt increase. I'm troubled by the president cutting defense spending by a trillion dollars in the face of rising aggression and military capability by China. I'm troubled by the Obama regime's unstated policy to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. I'm troubled by Obama helping topple Egypt's government when it is obvious that it will be replaced by islamofascists. I'm troubled by Obama letting Baby Assad massacre Syrian citizens.

Right wing response: 'BO attacks free cells with socialism'

Yeah, when you have a starting platform based on nothing but hate, it's hard to admit when they might do something of value.

Must be sad to have to wake up every day with this mental persecution complex you seem to have. Really sad.

  9. It is indeed possible he is simply touting the Ron Paul party line in order to tap into the ever increasing ranks of the libertarians. I will give him the benefit of the doubt until I see actual numbers.

  10. "Benefit of the doubt" to what... another term as president"?
