Aren't these the same State insurance commissioners who oversaw the Insurance industry within their State? These are the folks Obama was blaming that allowed the insurance companies sell us crappy insurance. if I were a State commissioner i would demand an apology from Obama before I did anything to help him get out of this.
Yeah, in a communist country they may have that right? Is that what we now are? And what's next? Mr. dictator outlawing small sedans that cost $20K and forcing people to buy $50K SUV's because they are 'better' and offer 'more coverage'? And WTF would people in 50's and 60's need maternity coverage, pediatric dental, pediatric vision? That is not allowing CHOICE, which by the way, we DO have when it comes to auto policies. One is not forced to have comprehensive or collision coverage, whether you have a $100 clunker of a $1000K high end car. It's a CHOICE!!!
Kinda', but not totally. The new fix is really a let's shift the blame to an easy target...insurance companies. Everyone hates insurance companies. However, insurance companies do have to obey the law, the law which Obama and crew wrote and mandated. You run a roofing company right? Lets say I contract you for a job. It's a smaller job, and I don't want to pay much for the shingles you're going to use. You show me the cheapest on the market. They meet the standards, but just barely. I agree to use the cheap ones cause they fit my personal need. All is well. Next day Obama decides those cheap shingles don't cut it anymore. It's illegal to use them from now on. I still need the job done, but now you tell me I have to use different, much more expensive shingles. My cost for this job goes way up. Now I'm pissed. Should I be pissed at you? You're just doing what the government mandates. Are you a shady contractor just trying to rip me off? Contractors can have a bad rep too just like insurance companies, but obeying the law, however stupid, isn't your fault, and it damn sure isn't the fault of the consumer. Lets lay the blame squarely where it belongs. Right at the feet of this administration.
Are there not already some types of shingles that are illegal to use? Or maybe it's just that you can't get fire insurance if you use them... Anyway, Conservatives Confident America Rejecting Obamacare, Ready for Every-Man-for-Himself Care By Jonathan Chait "The keep-your-plan fiasco, in addition to flummoxing Democrats, has not only held out to Republicans the tantalizing prospect that they can discredit and defeat Obamacare, but also drawn into sympathetic focus their own alternative vision. "Here is the basic ideological division. Obama wants the health-care system to do more to pool risk â which is to say, to shift the burden of covering the sick onto the healthy. Republicans want it to do less to pool risk, so that healthy people can be free of the burden of subsidizing the costs of those less medically fortunate. "The small portion of the populace that lies outside of either employer-based or direct government coverage provides the closest existing model for the health-care system conservatives favor. The minority within this market who have insurance, and are losing their plans as a result of regulations preventing insurers from excluding the sick, have dominated public attention and formed what conservatives imagine will be a constituency for their own brand of counter-reform: a deregulated market where healthy people can buy cheap, bare-bones plans, and sicker people have to pay large out-of-pocket costs. Obamacareâs torturous birth pangs have convinced..." More>>
