She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, and fifty percent of America reacts like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other fifty percent know they're going to have to feed the cow.

That's because the previous representation of Jamie brought the class into near-bankruptcy and shipped several of the innocent members of the class into battle with hundreds of upper-classmen. In addition, Jamie's predesessor's policies inflated the price of milk for the classroom by nearly 10x in which only a few members of the class could actually afford to eat for lunch.

Not only was the morale of the class dwindling, but obviously Jamie didn't have a chance. So Olivia would save her breathe....focus on reform and reward the students with well-deserved ice cream (finally).

....as well as economic support, better foreign relations, and not to mention someone with half a brain.

The general rule is that, want is or not, just to respect American choice and try to deal with that choice. When a President won a majority thats because they really need him. It reminds the 1984 election when Reagan won a strong majority that because the World as a whole except the communist countries, not just American people, did need him to lead to get out of the crisis (cold war, nuclear). With no exception, this time the majority of people believe that Obama can get us out of financial crisis as well as providing world stability.
