  1. Ha, we all know he's an affirmative action candidate and much less qualified than probably every other single person in the school including the janitor.

He's been given everything you like to pretend he deserves. The guy has NEVER had a real job in his entire life.

  2. This should just be obama's biography.

    Change in Selection System

Mr. Obama was elected after a meeting of the review's 80 editors that convened Sunday and lasted until early this morning, a participant said.

Until the 1970's the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. Among these were Elliot L. Richardson, the former Attorney General, and Irwin Griswold, a dean of the Harvard Law School and Solicitor General under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon.

That system came under attack in the 1970's and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition. The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.

  8. The 14th Amendment is garbage and has created more problems than the rest of the Constitution combined due to its poor drafting.

The debt clause was clearly meant in the context of the post Civil War period, but it contains the important qualifier that the debt has to be lawfully incurred. Since the Executive Branch has no independent right to raise or spend money, that authorization has to come from the congress. Otherwise, the Drafters of the Constitution might as well gone with two branches of government, since the Executive could pretty well do anything it wanted if it didn't have to depend on the congress for funding.

If Obama were to assert dictatorial powers to raise the limit unilaterally, the congress is not without power. They could refuse to pass any spending bills and basically shut down the government. Provided they had the balls to do so, that is. The Constitution was carefully drafted to give the Executive and legislative Branches offsetting powers so neither could get too big for its britches. But they have to be willing to use them.

  9. The debt was lawfully incurred. The Bush tax cuts,Bush increasing defense spending from 300 billion to 700 billion,Bushs unfunded wars,Bush's massive expansion of government(TSA/Homeland security etc)Bushs medicare expansion etc were all approved by (mostly a republican)Congress so the debts from those acts were lawfully incurred and The United States Constitution says The US Government has to pay them

  10. If you believe the President should follow what the constitution says why are you not comlaining that he has violated the constitution in not deporting every single illegal alien in the country?

Take care that the laws be faithfully executed.

Perhaps the consitutitional professor was absent the days that section of the Constitution was discussed.
