There are many more people than there are planes, I know they don't teach you much in Appalachia, but a more accurate assessment would be number of medical opportunities vs. air ferry opportunities.

It takes what, 50 hours to get a pilots licence?

Do you even need a GED??? You can take a plane into the air as early as 12 years old

40 for a private license. 1500 for an ATP. Typically several thousand to be hired as a captain on any jet.
