This has been the policy for Democrats for many years. Not an "Obama thing". My mother was a school teacher, and was forced to vote Democrat because she received more pay. Same thing goes for any public employee - Democrat in office = higher pay.
Then why wasn't she making 316 prior to her husbands election to the Senate? I doubt that the legion of traders on ET who excelled in advanced engineering and mathematics curriculum are overly impressed by the vapid word warriors who attend law schools. The Obama's benefited by affirmative action. Why not. It hardly takes a genious to get a law degree. Ask around and see if many MIT grads were able to graduate just because they were admitted as a protected minority. To borrow from Hollywood Henderson, there's lawyers who couldn't spell MIT if you spotted them the M and T.
Not to mention that the pay increase Pabst referred to also had a little something to do with a promotion. But these are just details on the rails of Pabst's speeding Factoid Express.
Below is a pretty good sight if one wants to know the candidate's stands on issues from guns to taxes, including votes on key issues, and everything between. Seems unbiased, and sourcing is provided on quotes and other info. http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm http://www.ontheissues.org/John_McCain.htm http://www.ontheissues.org/Barack_Obama.htm http://www.ontheissues.org/Joe_Biden.htm
And of course her sudden "promotion" had nothing to do with her new husbands status. And of course Obama getting his home at 300K under buyers list had nothing to do with Tony Rezko paying full price for the adjoining lot. And of course Obama didn't know Wright was a racist moonbat. It's pretty funny that McCain gets railed on because he doesn't readily know how many investment properties hs wife owns but Obama can plead clueless on the details of the ONLY home he owns and dick head anti-American Canadians lap it up.
