Obama takes Romney to school

  1. fine, but it isn't nonsense. In reality the country was founded upon and wound up at the top based on the principles and laws of individual freedom, private property, and restrained fed govt (confined to defense of both the nation and defined rights, NOT charity). if you think about it, it is sustainable over the long haul, and it will work again if we can get back to it. What doesn't make sense is attempting to spend your way out of a spending problem and the entirety of Western Civ (the vast majority of civilization on the face of this planet) is at best, stagnate, under these policies. This brings us back to your "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" line.

I've said it before and i need to reiterate: Entitlements will be the downfall of the West. They are unfair, divisive, and seemingly always - financially unsustainable.

  3. yes we do, and it will get much worse in the foreseeable future if nothing is done to fix entitlements. You can tell me we have a demand problem, but that is due to the mess this country is.. let people keep more of their own money and prove to them that you can get a handle on expenses (without raising their cost of living and decreasing business margins through taxation) and they will stop hording and start consuming. If not, then we just have to accept that our economy has stagnated which makes it all the more imperative that the govt stop spending what it doesn't have.. since they will not be able to 'grow' out of the debt. Spending is a problem bro.

I used 'income' to mirror your 'spending', but of course I meant revenue. You probably knew that. : )

Look, "who's the fastest sprinter" is a meaningless question until comparison, that is, context, is made. What's our context? If you look at the data for us and our peers you will see that we are a low tax and moderate spending nation.

  8. The 3rd debate was a yawn fest and has undecided focus groups flocking to Romney like a choice between Raquel Welch and Phylis Diller.

    Rennick Rassmussen out:cool:

  9. You meant a federal revenue problem? lol dude.. no. And context is OUR history not the status of our 'peers' who we left in the dust long ago.

Well, if it's just our history you want to talk about, then we are a very low tax and moderate spending nation.
