Obama takes on GOP leaders...

  1. Hilarious...I watched all 66 minutes of it (unlike Fox News)

To those who were constructive and civil to him he was open, collegial and civil in return. To those who took he opportunity to speak to their President in terms of "talking points," he absolutely wiped the floor with them and made them look like fools. And just as Landis mentioned he did so without the benefit of notes or a teleprompter.

    A command performance indeed.

BTW: Paul Ryan (R) Wisconsin; is budding superstar. The Republican caucus would do themselves a big favor by getting this guy into a leadership position...quickly.

  2. I was watching it on FOX when they cut away.

I thought - WTF? I wanted to see the whole thing, if nothing else for the novelty since I don't recall a situation like this before when the Prez goes to the other side's gathering and does a back-and-forth on issues.

What FOX did was kind of like censorship - why didn't they just show the whole thing and let the viewers decide what they thought. They have plenty of time for commentary afterward.

I ended up watching the rest of it on another channel.

Really puts a spotlight on their slogan "we report, you decide", doesn't it?
