The media looked the other way compliantly as he stonewalled investigations, destroyed documents, hid them, forced every issue into multiple court appeals, etc. Compare the media's reaction to an entirely bogus scandal, the firing of a handful of U. S, Attorneys under Bush. Even though they worked purely at his pleasure, the media tried to blow up this fake scandal and harped on it endlessly. Ditto for gitmo, "torture", secret prisons, drone attacks, etc. All were horrible scandals under Bush, and the media obsessed over them. Now, nothing althought nothing of significance has changed. The major liberal media have an additional reason to shy away form F and F. tehy were partners in it. I am convinced the whole operation was a scheme collaborated on by the White House and Justice Departments, the media and anti-gun groups.
