Except that within socialism there are the social welfare costs, and they don't pay their way. The result is that taxpayers are subsidizing labor for a few who take advantage of it. The other problems are the stresses that come with multicultural societies, most don't survive too well. Thirdly, wage compression is ruining the lives of lower skilled americans.
I hear ya. I can patriate my money in Mexico within hours. We should do the same for Mexicans coming here to work, ie. full US citizenship within hours.
Arizona is a conundrum. With violence across the border, the state MUST take action to protect its citizens. Seems only 2 ways to do it... (1) what they are trying, with its unintended consequences or (2) build-out the fence to seal off the border, then call out the guard to police and enforce. The Feds could also police the border.. (in fact we could kill two birds with one stone by having our troops in the ME come home and police the border)... but they won't. Obama wants to legalize all of the illegals to build the Democrat voting base. Think about what that means... Obama is REFUSING TO PROTECT US CITIZENS IN ARIZONA AGAINST CAPITAL VIOLENCE.. IN ORDER TO CURRY POLITICAL FAVOR. Can't a guy be impeached for that?
This applies to citizens as well, what if a cop stops grandpa during his morning mall marathon for his papers. Grandpa shows the cop his social security card. Not good enough for the cop and Grandpa goes to jail. I don't have any papers on me proving that I am a citizen do you . What are the cops going to do when a citizen tells them to fuck off and mind their own business? Are they going to bus them to Mexico ? Mav I would be all for them getting tough on immigration, i would make thousands more each month in my business , I'm a small contractor and I already pay above the market to my subs, I wouldn't have a problem making sure my guys were legal. But the big contractors, their costs would skyrocket, I don't know how a large contractor with scores of subcontractors could verify that all the subs workers were legal or that taxes were being held out. I think we would see massive wage inflation in certain fields, roofing for sure would.
federal overhaul of immigration laws, which Congressional leaders signaled they were preparing to take up soon, to avoid âirresponsibility by others.â Interpretation: Obama wants to maintain Federal Control and to prevent independent States Rights The Arizona law, he added, threatened âto undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and our communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe.â Interpretation: Obama wants people to remain brainwashed, politically correct, and be ready to trust a Fed Run police state versus each states independent rights.
"Latino members of Congress also slammed the bill. "When you institutionalize a law like this one, you are targeting and discriminating at a wholesale level against a group of people," Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Arizona, said Tuesday. Grijalva closed his two district offices Friday when an unidentified caller threatened to blow up his Tucson office and kill his staff members. The caller also said he was going to be "exercising my civil liberties, and I'm shooting Mexicans at the border," according to Grijalva's district director, Ruben Reyes, who fielded one of the calls." looks like Congressman Grijalva better carry his passport along when he goes around his district LOLLL
If you want to see a public display of the current problem go to the Corner of Huffines Plaza and I35E in Lewisville TX. There's a strip mall there and every morning hundreds of illegal immigrant day laborers show up looking for work. Vans and Pickups come by hiring workers for the day. With the drug violence that has erupted spilling out from Mexico into neighboring border cities. Those States will have to address closing the boarders to protect it's citizens. If the federal government will not do it the States will have too. Some one brought up having to carry passports..... When I travel abroad, I have to carry mine at all times, why should it not be the same here? Economic issues aside, border security is a huge problem that faces this country, from drug and illegal entry to possible homeland security issues. This country has never turned it's back to those seeking refuge and a new life inside it's boarders, but come here legally......... any other avenue is criminal and should be treated as such.
I know that area well. So what do you suspect President Perry will about the problem when Texas secedes?
